Jorgensen is taking the piss surely. Didn’t he completely ruin his knee, did all the CLs. Give him a full offseason to bulk and grow into his body.

I don’t understand why a third half back wouldn’t be included in the squad. And it seems odd to me it wouldn’t be Lonergan at this late stage.

Have we seen Hooper play XVs for the last time?

might make a club or barbarians appearance, but if he misses the RWC and swaps to 7s next year, it’ll be a sad end to an incredible XVs career.

Calf seems like a convenient excuse for Eddie

His love affair with size would make it hard for him to pick 2 small 7's

Seems like it’s pretty good mail that he’s out
His captaincy and efforts have been great but forgetting winning record - if he’s 50/50 to be ready - it just isn’t worth the risk.
Let’s face it, wales and Fiji are going to be hard games and we’re going to need a very good pack to put Georgia to the sword as well. So basically bringing him over for Portugal if he’s have cooked.
It’s a tough call but an injured and out for form 7 - we do need to finish picking on the past.
I don’t get Donaldson. Guess he can cover more positions than foley and it doesn’t seem like Eddie is a JOC (James O'Connor) fan. I don’t know. Odd pick.
Gleeson love on this thread is crazy! Tho I agree he has the attributes we need at 6,7,8 - fast, good hands, hard hitting and footwork (harry wilson fans fuming).
I feel pretty good about our back row options and depth for the most part. Glad foketi might make it. If Len is healthy center depth picking up between fok, Samu, jordie and len.
Jell away and jordie fullback options.
Starting wings solid with jordie and kellaway good backups tho wouldn’t mind vuni suddenly seeing god and achieving his potential.
Locks pretty good too. Front row the biggest worry.
Hopefully schoupp and whoever else picked are in some kind of scrumming boot camp with os day randt, Sheridan and woodcock somehow someway.

would love the pants England in the quarters. I’d be worried about Argentine big time if I was them!

I said it at the time but geez Slipper/MHooper co-captains was such an awful call, there's no way Eddie didn't know Bell was a far superior player and that MHooper (even injury free) was very non-secure in his position.

The only explanation to me is he did it to see who else stepped up in a leadership role, it's kind of smart really, give the captaincy to two veterans rather than make a rash decision before he's fully evaluated other candidates properly.

Eddie’s pragmatic selections will be focused on the future. The new generation of Jorgensen, Gordon, Tom Hooper, Bell, Donaldson, Frost joining McDermott, McReight, Petaia, Kellaway and Valetini is needed. White, Cooper and Slipper just hanging in there with test experience. Quade‘s own admission that the Dunedin was probably his last game in NZ against the AB,s. This is the point to stop flogging the old horse and get the new blood building. There might be disappointment with this year’s RWC but the next years will break the cycle. Cheika and Rennie didn’t have the balls. Eddie does.

these decisions (Jorgensen, Vunivalu, Donaldson) are pretty unjustifiable if you look at just RWC23.

but completely understandable if you think RWC23 is just a training run for Lions & ‘27.

Surely you take MHoopen on tour purely for his experience and leadership even if he’s not going to play. He’s going to add more overall than the 40 mins that Donaldson plays against Georgia.
