RWC: Pool C - Wallabies v Georgia, SdF Sunday 10th September 2am

Well they got the win and had a few good points but a few bad ones

the box kicking needs to stop in the opposition half. We are now playing 2-3 phase then kicking / you need the ball to run eddie, will this work v Fiji back 3 or any top nation? Was as much kicking as afl. I don’t mind the cross field kicks at times but I didn’t think I would see another box kick in the opposition again after SA used this

Good
- the pack is bloody huge. Was 960 compared to Georgia 907kg
- Skelton is bullying guys, tupou is fit and he and bell are great ball carriers
- valetini was great
- back line was good with koribete, Marky N and petaia looking dangerous
- Kerevi will get better with each run - we don’t seem to be using out game around him now like we did before

bad
- Arnold stuffed the line out maul chance - doesn’t offer much - what’s he offer that Neville of frost
- constant kicking was terrible, need to cut the box kicking in the opposing half
- unfortunately Donaldson was okay, only in the right place twice though, he still won’t ignite any attack v a good team like kellaway

I thought Georgia were the better side and we were lucky to win. We MUST do better from here.
You watch a different game?

We fluffed some things in the second half, but we scored 4 good tries to their 2, nearly had 2 more except for knock ons. We should have scored more.

I think their replacements were better than our

Have to look for highlights,is it worth it? So much bloody rugby to watch I having to miss some games. Bloody WC, NPC etc a man has only so much time, and I off to NPC game shortly!
Depends how much you like Australia..

Not directed at everyone, just a few. Not sure why so called wallabies fans are taking any opportunity to criticise the team. Cant knock a team when theyre giving 100%. Take a leaf out of japan, fiji or argentinas book who support their team through it all.

Re Arnold, gets through plenty of cleanout work on attack. Complements that starting pack with multiple ball carrying options really well. Frost on the bench should be the go

Agree with Frost on the bench. I thought Arnold went well as did most of the pack. Not sure about the replacements and the lineout failure was due to Faessler's sp throwing but it got better.
The backs look very dangerous, the kicking tactic is OK, but with a big pack that can move the ball upfield and backs that can break tackles, it felt to me like the tactics did us no favours but was a safety-first plan.

Their leaves are fleeting, as destined for unarrestable seasonal falls into earthbound torpor and decomposition as, uh, actual leaves.

As my sensei once said "impermanence is inescapable and everything vanishes." Please apply this tenet to everything you love, in particular all Australian rugby football fixtures.

Oh, by the way, I didn't watch the game.

A lot of posters are down on Nic White. While I agree he kicks the ball too much, it is clearly Eddie's game plan. Three phases at most and kick. Carter Gordon did it exactly the same in the first half, even when there was a clear and obvious overlap in the backline. Where Nic had it over Tate in this game was his speed to the breakdown and in clearing the ball. Tate was extremely slow.

Halfback will be of interest for next week. I presume Tate will have to sit out at least 12 days under the concussion protocol, and it looked like Nic finished with a bad shoulder. I'd say it will be Fines-Leleiwasa to start. Hopefully Eddie doesn't pull one of his usual tricks and put Donaldson on the bench as cover at No 9. With Kellaway maybe coming back in, that could be the sort of mind blowing move Jones would make.

Win is a win but patchy performance
Given subs / injuries I won’t be too hard on second half line out.
Inside backs were poor I would say
Outside backs did a great job.
Onto wales.
I think wales if they lose to us are a high chance of also losing to Georgia and fiji
Fiji next

All I can say is that it's nice to win one. Yay!

Not clean and as comprehensive as I would like - got scrappy in lots of places, but it's a win and you can see bit's and pieces starting to come together.

I'm still very nervous about Fiji and Wales. When we allowed things to get fractured, our defense started to look a little vulnerable.
