Let's not get carried away here, they are still 10 seconds behind the pace and also came in behind the view 2nd VIII. Smokey for the win? I'd say no. Smokey for a podium? potentiallyI don't do this very often however, i thought i'd shine a light on the boys from the hill who performed honourably on Saturday, not only competing but winning there heat, lighting the carnival on fire. Living up to my earlier statements as being the cream of the crop of schoolboy rowing. I also think that they are a smokey this week in the infamous Gold Cup. Bring it on!!! Any predictions for both First VIII and Second VIII? @The Chairman

Nice to see that Kings has formed a third VIII. While they most likely won't be much of a threat this weekend against the established crews of the division, with a bit of time and some late season recruitment, I think that they have potential to cause some trouble at the back end of the season.Elliot i don't understand why you are so stuck on the 3rd 8, it is clearly view by daylight followed by riverviews 4th 8 in 2nd place
I'm no future teller but St Joseph's aren't winning the Fourth Four race. They are behind Ignatius 2 and 18 seconds off the pace.1st viii-joeys

Look it's clear that St Joseph's are by no means complete locks for this First Eight race. We haven't seen much from that King's VIII, and Ignatius are closing. Shore looking to open the door with Newington on their tail. Anyones game right now.Hello Elliot,
I strongly agree with this. Joeys in 1st is a valid option. But. I would keep an eye out for the Riverview crew. With a strong rowing program that has brought much success in the season so far. This crew is only 1.42 seconds behind in the NSW regatta and are proving that they will not be going down without a fight. This is the rowing that we want to see. In the 2nd viii race it is looking like Riverview will also take the cake in. I think that the fours are all correct and would like to empasise the fact of the 4th iv race. I have been to sirc and watched this race and it is exciting to say the least. With riverviews depth I seem to remember there being 3 view crews in this race?(please correct if wrong) Never the less this will be a exciting few weeks of rowing leading up to the BIG DAY.
Would love to hear other opinions!

I know you are the expert chairman but the fourth four is anyones race (coming from a iggies old boy) although it might look like Riverview are going to take the cake. With shore improving the fours pace over the holidays I think they are also in for a chance. I also saw that there are 4 boys from last years kings 1st year 10viii featuring in the 4th 4, this weekend, please correct me if i am wrong. I think view will find it tough to stay in front with the competition closing in on them.I'm no future teller but St Joseph's aren't winning the Fourth Four race. Well. I have just seen the King's Fourth Four. The old 1st Junior rowers seem to have come back.
