O'Rourke is much better fly and is best fly i have seen for a while, reminds me of the 1sts xv flyhalf for grammar at the moment,
he is very explosive, great vision, and is exciting to watch,

Given and Dalgleish lack the vital skills of a flyhalf, they have bad vision, and play for themselves - seen many wasted tries by these hands,

Also Latham is on the bench as an explosive player, michael gunn has much better stamina and i would make a change at around 5 mins into the second half.

i dont understand this "vital skills" part, given is much better with the boot and has a solid pass. and as for playing for themselves, it astounds me that you cannot see that orourke is probably the most guilty of this out of the three mentioned

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything but you guys are overlooking everyone else and placing alot of bias on gps players. Duncan Paiaaua played qld white last year. and he made the australian team for league. he will not be overlooked by selectors. he has a great runnning game, kicking game, great footwokr. and he can kick goals.

http://sportography.com.au/an1610/NSWCvQDW/images/CCSY1793.jpg thats him if you have never seen him before. which i believe none of you have

I would certainly have Given over O'Rourke just based on what I have seen of GT. You dont pick a 16A #10 over a 1st XV #10 when they go to the same school and are the same age.. seems dumb

The number 10 for qld will be Duncan Paiaaua, hes from rockhampton, emmaus college. but he was the QLD white no. 10 last year
Just thought I'd solve the no 10 crisis you guys got going on here.

I agree. Duncan represented qld last year as a 15yr old. His game is remarkable great pass great footwork and great vision. Theres ur Number 10 over orourke any day of the week.

I think BOC is referring to who he has seen in form recently, all this talk is just talk until the team selection occurs, in reference to which- what are the details for the selections i would like to have a look at the quality

given is a good goal kicker, just seems sluggish around the field

I'm actually not to sure maybe light would know?

Brandonk, you put me under a lot of pressure when you throw these curve balls at me. Regardless, I am unsure and would be only guessing.. That being said I did read Brisbane Grammar somewhere so that's what I'll go with for now. Back to my researching..

Okay I've done my reading and unfortunately QRU doesn't make it overly clear from what I can gather the trials for Met East are at Churchie and Met North at Nudgee.

Who knows where the State trials are, the 18s are at Caloundra and the 15s are up north aswell...

the met north and met east are for just 15's

See that's what I've read too. I'm terribly unsure as to when the U16 trials are, I know they pick a team but wether that's without trial games I am unsure. It would seem abit strange to pick them just based on school form, but then again I've seen weirder things happen in Queensland

At list of about 100 - 120 boys is released at the end of the GPS season. The tuesday directly after if my memory serves me correctly. From there the first round of trials are held at Churchie (based on 2010 system) , were the lads go off according to specific positions for position specific drills, this is followed by internal games. After that a revised list is announced a week later. Followed by a similar day of drills and games , another revised list is announced. Followed by one day of games etc. After that the two squads are selected along with about 10 shadow players.

You sir, know you're stuff. Thank you for filling in the gaps. If a player gets selected for GPS 1 and then QLD 1/2 opens, are they then ineligible for Qld U16s?

I know Sautia didn't play both but if on the off chance you were to be selected say on the bench for Qld 2 and get bugger all game time, can you then trial for a starting spot in the U16 Qld team?

As these trials are held in Term 3, which is after the National Champs. All the U16 lads who played in QLD 1 ad 2 are eligible to trial for the U16's and usually have their spot cemented. ie. From last year; Satui, Timu . The only U16 players that are ineligible to trial are those who are selected to play for aus schools , for obvious reasons ie. player burnout etc.
