I agree Bowside. I said before that Genia/Cooper/Barnes is my preferred 9/10/12 and I reckon you can bracket McCabe and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at 13. McCabe I think would be a good outside centre, particularly as Horne hasn't really made the position his own.

You just salivate at the prospect of JOC (James O'Connor) and Beale back in the mix at some point don't you....

There is no doubt in my mind it was. He had to see the welsh winger coming and should have known that AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) had a better angle to the line (not to mention that AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is a better finisher)

McCabe looks more a test 13 than 12. I think he would excel out one spot.

I doubt deans will want to change the midfield for the second test, so if Beale comes in it will likely be at 15, with AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) moving to vuna's wing.

Great win but still not convincing by any means.

Genia, Higgers and McCabe played 'A" games and to me were the point of difference.
Berrick finallly has some form back.
Digby has great g0-forward, leg drive blah blah but is horrible in the skills department - ball security is poor

Scrums were belted by the Welsh. Robbo gave away 2 penalties in first half and lucky not a third for early enagagement. Both props were absolutely poor around paddock. Alexander made no impact when he replaced Robbo at 60m mark. Whilst Kepu played very average any calls for Palmer are way too early. TPN was better but Moore deserves to be run-on with TPN the impact off bench. Hooper made that required impact from the bench - jeez he has balance and leg drive

I'd agree with changing Moore for TPN and Fanigaa for Horne for the second Test. It's a shame for Horne he fluffed that try, because the rest of his game was pretty good, making several telling tackles, and with Fainga'a and McCabe getting that turn over towards the end that was the result of a great chase. But give Fainga'a a crack next week and let's see.
I was a bit worried about the lack of drive coming through in the scrum - a few times the hit seemed good, position was good, then nothing. Got better as the game went on. Maybe just Wales' good scrum. We do miss Horwill I think.

I think we need to pick a TH lock next week to sure up the scrum. Brisbane is the quickest pitch in the county which allowed us to play the running game but in Melbourne the set piece might be more important.

I wouldn't pick timanai. I'd probably go with douglas or one of the rebels.

On the Horne "butchered try" I wonder why we didn't see the front end shot. I would have liked to see what was actually happening and whether it was actually a poor decision, him being blindsided or a Welsh hand. Again we don't attack beyond the 12 channel - ever so the Horne vs Faainga decision is on attacking prowess is a bit mute

I think he struggles with the pace of the game and becomes ineffective - he's always a metre behind where he needs to be. Not experienced enough (like Sharpe) to be selective with involvements, so he does a heap of crap ones.

If Beale is fit for the next game robbie could move barnes to 12, McCabe to 13 and drop horne. But even that is a compromised line up as barnes doesn't have the impact running game at 12.

The only Australian I can think of who has the running and passing game to play 12 is JOC (James O'Connor) and maybe Tapuai. I think McCabe would be much better suited to 13.

This changes the dynamic of the 12 who also becomes another option as first receiver/kicker. He(BB) has played his best rugby for the Wallabies at 12 and defensively he is rock solid. McCabe really looks to be a 13. What a great line he ran for that try. Imagine Cooper dropping some long passes onto his chest out wide.
Beale coming in at 15 (if available) also could work as then AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) could move to Vunas wing.

Wales are going to come out of the gates stronger in the next test as they have another game under their belt and they know what they are playing against.
We will need to step up our game as well. A few changes in the side will tweak it up a little. It would be nice to get that width in our attack from Beale or Cooper.

Really enjoyed being at Suncorp for a Wallabies test. Good atmosphere, some good play from both sides in what was an enjoyable game to watch, and the Wallabies got up...perfect!

The TPN/Moore combination works well as TPN provides greater athleticism early on and Moore finishes better. The reason I threw the 'swap Palu for Mowen' because as no matter either do in the eyes of particularly Brumbies fans, they can do no good.

Massive overreaction, followed by an even bigger generalisation...

Moore was MOTM the previous week and looked good when he came off the bench last night.

He's been the better test players for years now, one of the Wallabies' consistently better players during that time, and his form this year has him miles ahead of any other hooker in the country.

I'm glad TPN played well last night so Moore could get a rest, but Moore is quite obviously the better all round player. And an 80 minute player to boot.

Otherwise, I'm happy to keep the same XV...
