Will the Reds make the Final?

Before Horwill's injury I would have said yes. I'd wager on the Reds taking the final 3 games, which should see them into the finals. They might also get lucky in that being in 6th place for the finals might see them play off against the Brumbies. Ideally, that would feed into a semi-final against the Chiefs (who have 3 tough games to finish the season as opposed to the Stormers who have 3 easy ones). I'd take odds of 5/1 on the Reds making the final.

the finals could go either way after this little June hiatus..

Anything is possible. If they have the right players fit, they could get to the top 6 and get through the first round. Not sure they could win three away games against the best sides though...

I bloody hope they do though.

Have the medicos determined when Horwill is likely to play again?

Not trolling here, but I'd say it depends on whether they have to play the Crusaders in a knockout match. I can't see anyone beating them again this year except perhaps if there is a spate of injuries.

It is highly, highly unlikely that the Reds will play the Crusaders unless it is in the grand final itself. The best the Crusaders can hope for in finals seeding is 4th. The Chiefs are 7 points ahead and it is very unlikely the Crusaders will top that. The Stormers and presumably the Brumbies would make the three conference finals teams. The best the Crusaders can hope for is 4th place. In that case the only way they would play the Reds is if the Reds were in 5th place, which is unlikely given the current position of the Bulls. It is also possible that the Reds may leapfrog the Brumbies in which case a 3rd v 6th final would be possible but it would be highly unlikely the Crusaders would qualify in 6th place. They are guaranteed at least one win against the Force.

i could see the reds actually beating the crusaders if they had a home final but there are no chances of that anymore but i could definitely see them making it past the brumbies in the first week of finals thats if they win their next 3 games

I think the Reds chances might actually be affected by the performance of the Wallabies as some of the Tahs players seem to be finding some form in gold. But whether the Tahs do them a favour and beat the Brumbies or end the Reds chances is anyone's guess.

Reds will flog the Tahs at next outing - one team is brimming with mateship and the confidence/passion that often comes with it the other has none - politics, bad form,
dis-jointed blah blah

It is unlikely

They can be good enough to win one away semi, but I can't see them winning two in a row away, possibly with one in SA then another in NZ.

Let alone three in a row

Hmmm, I think the dark cloud of history of the Reds bad years will return.

No I dont think that the Reds are going to go back and be cellar dwellars, I am referring to the years when we were uncompetitive in the S12/S14 competition and the main target was to beat the Waratahs each year.

I expect that the Brumbies will beat the Tahs and then the Tahs will upset the Reds here in Brisbane for the final game.

God I hope I am not right in this, but given the Tahs will have nothing left to play for I just have this sense that they will let their frustrations of the year out on the Reds in the final game and thereby deny the Reds the final spot in the 2012 Finals Series.

dont have a lot of faith do you linebacker haha, Reds should destroy tahs this year. Diggers has finally found form and the Genia - QC (Quade Cooper) combo will be back on it.

We're missing Horwill, and that is a biggie, but i think we should still beat the tahs quite convincingly.

If we win the next three games, is there a possibility we might not be able to make finals?

The one thing you haven't considered Something, is that form, skills, key players etc, doesn't count for shit when the Reds play the Tahs. Both teams seem to forget everything they know about Rugby and just go out there to thump the shit out of each other! ;) Usually ending in a pretty close but unnatractive display of the game they play in heaven. Oh and lets not forget all of the injuries that will come out of the game also, just before our finals campaign!
