It was never explained how Tourish managed to get a gig for NT in the Aust Schoolboys championships.

Either that or I may have missed the explanation how he qualified, or it may be that there was another unrelated Tourish at Fullback for NT. The middle option is probably more likely. Does he have family connections to the NT?
Yeah, he comes from there, goes home each holidays.

I will also be in attendance of the kings vs grammar game. If jones doesn't play, does that mean the behemoth jack tourish will play?

Also looking forward to the south african exchange student from johannesburg for grammar, the new no.8 Hari Gillembosch replacing the injured angus bishop.

I won't say itwill be a close encounter...because it won't. Kings to win 56-7. I am predicting an intercept try as well..i just have a hunch it will happen.

it would be good for jones to play against grammar, given that it was his former school. i suspect few of the grammar boys will be fired up to play him

Predictions For This Week
Scots vs. Newington
Game of the round, simply because both teams are still in the hunt for the premiership. I'm picking Newington but I am always wary of this Scots team. I picked them against Joeys but I thought they would get beaten by Riverview. Starting up front, Newington are going to play a physical and direct game, looking to challenge Scots up front and then give the ball to Moeroa, Milne and Vlahos whilst Scots are on the back foot. The key for Newington is to quicken their line speed this week. Scots are at their most dangerous when you let them shift the ball across the park. Scots face a similar challenge this week, facing a larger and more physical opposition pack. However what they lack in size they make up for in work rate and mobility. Therefore the key for Newington is to get the ball and punch it up through the forwards and narrow attacks through their inside backs. When Scots get the ball they must rush up so that they limit Kellaway and Stewart's ball. I think this week the Scots pack could get put back in their place somewhat. I'm tipping Newington to play a smart game and sneak home within 10 points. However you can never be sure what brilliance Horwitz, Stewart and Kellaway will bring to the table when playing in front of their home crowd. Can The Scots pack answer the challenge for the 3rd week in a row? Will Newington be the first teamin the competition rounds to contain Horwitz, Stewart and Kellaway? How will scots answer the straight running of Moeroa, Milne and Vlahos?

Shore vs. Riverview
Going to be a fiery encounter due to the great matches this age group of year 12s in particular has played against each other over the years and a great crowd as its old boys day. Whilst last weeks loss realistically lost View a chance at a premiership, as no side has won a premiership in the last 10 years losing more than one game, Riverview will be out to regain some pride, and I know that they love nothing more than trying to bash Shore. I think it's going to be different this time though. Shore's pack seem to be really up for it this year. Whilst they haven't got the big 3 of Dempsey, Whitely and Rorke, this Shore pack had impressed me with its relentless work rate and for the first time in many years has their full strength side on the field. Key for Shore is to make the hits early on and get the crowd involved. This week they need to use their outside backs more. This back-line definitely lacks in size, but has a lot of speed. They should shy away from playing crash ball stye plays and make sure that the likes of Arnold, Oldham and Buchanan-Reeks get more ball to slice through Riverview's defence. Can Riverview defend their flanks against a fast and elusive Shore side? Can the Shore pack keep the big 3 contained? Going to be a close game with the lead changing throughout the match. Could well come down to a kick on the buzzer. Shore by 2.

Kings vs. Grammar
Grammar impressed me last week, but from what I hear all those players who impressed me are now injured. Kings to win comfortably if they get the ball to the outside backs. Grammars strength is their set piece setting up some strong mauls off line puts and sound back-line plays off scrums, one such leading to their first try last season. Kings to win by 40.

A much needed bye for Joeys after losing both matches to the competition favourites, they still face a tough game against Kings and will want to make sure they are ready to beat Shore in their last game of the season.

I think that the New 3rd's are trying hard! And agree that the High win in round 1 should not be lightly regarded.

I watched the 3rds draw 17 all at Kings in a tough game, and a 12 - 0 loss to Joeys last Saturday ( if I heard the score correctly ) hardly indicates that they were playing socially or "not trying", although I didn't see this game.

Sorry I have just read through all this and you were talking about the high firsts..., I got that win confused with the 16A's Grammar win, apologies

He's been gone a long time and they certainly didn't fire up last year when he played fullback for King's 16As - Grammar headed home with a 97-0 defeat.

Yeah, he comes from there, goes home each holidays.

He's actually a born and bred Sydney boy and has been at Kings since early Prep days. His family moved to the NT a couple of years ago and run a tourist business there. He's previously represented NT in Rugby 7's tournaments and qualifies on the basis of past representation.

TAS Firsts lost to Kings seconds 19-12, Kings began with a scurry when their big back line effectively ran straight though TAS to score two quick tries. Kings 14, TAS nil. It looked like a whitewash. TAS regrouped and spent much of the rest of the first half attacking, but couldn't quite get over the line.

The second half opened like the first one with a quick Kings try. Again TAS fought back, this time with growing success as Kings tired. TAS parents and old boys thought the school might get its second win or at least a draw, but there wasn't time.

Good win for kings today a 100-0 win over Grammar

OMG that sort of scoreline is no good for anyone ... Especially the poor ole scoreboard attendant who's arms must be screaming for Radox; his cranium twitching maniacally to multiples of seven and five...
