A bold prediction; Jordan Loto'aniu to shine!

Selected this week in the Bulldogs SG Ball squad for 2013 (and a year early) but hoping he electes to stay with rugby, as he does have a better future here!

Alas he does go the Bass High School (the Doggies Kennel) so it remains to be seen!

Great effort on the team lists George. Some inside contacts?

Just a reminder that the numbers in the programme above are only an indication of the respective best team for the Squad.

The Championship rules state:

The players shall keep the same number throughout the Championship. (regardless of their starting position)

All players from participating teams must start at least one game during the Championship.

Given those rules, do not expect the teams to be configued with Nos 1-15 in those positions for all games.

There will be plenty of occasions where the 16-23 will start, if not have a full game at the expense of some of the 1-15 players who will be rested, or injured.

A few changes to the QLD white team that i know of. Eli Pilz will be starting half back and sam Hicks has been given the 23 jersey. I cant remember who replaced him at fullback.
I have been watching quite a few trainings this week and they look pretty good. Dont write them off!!! If they do the basics right they will be a real contender.
I have also been keeping an eye on the reds and while it is a big pack they are pretty mobile. Thier problem will be how well they get through 4 days of rugby.
QLD vs QLD final.... (maybe)

I'll be there for as much as I can, providing the weather is OK.

Not going on Wednesday.

The Weather prediction HJ is awesome (for the Beach) a bit warm for rugby later in the week.

When I coached some juniors back in the day - way back - I had two good backs in the team and they were used to playing no.10 (as we call it now). They both wanted to play there and their dads wanted them to also; so I had them take turns at playing 10 and 15.

What I found out was that their play at fullback improved their play at flyhalf.

This makes sense because they are natural protagonists and one must always watch the position and movements of the other, and look for their strengths and weaknesses also.

It turned out that the faster lad started to enjoy playing fullback more, so he asked if he could stay there. It appeared to the dads that the outcome was caused by the great wisdom of the coach but though I basked in the credit for it, it was just serendipity.

We still nudged the wooden spooners for their title that season though, as I remember. They did better the following year when I wasn't coach. What does that mean?
.
They recruited some forwards in the off season?

.....snip....
QLD vs QLD final.. (maybe)

Distinct possibility, and good luck to them if they can orchestrate it.

If they can get past Juniors and Schools, then they deserve the acolades they will get.

Clearly however, we all know it will be a NSW v NSW final ....(maybe)
