They are waiting for all the votes to be tabulated so they can claim that Obama got the electoral college but not the popular vote and therefore doesn't have a mandate. Then they can use this to justify militant obstuctionism by the Republican party in the Congress and Senate. Fun times ahead.

Listening to NPR on my internet radio this AM there seems to be no doubt about this being their aim.Good result for the rest of the world I reckon. Obama is the more sensible candidate and genuinely wants to improve life for the middle class there.
I think they are still in for 4 more years of republicans rejecting everything left right and centre for crazy reasons though.
Does anyone else think that Obama's unexpectedly comprehensive victory was in part a reaction of voters to the Republicans spoiler attitude and complete unwillingness to engage in the political process in good faith.
Unfortunatley I think the only thing that could fundamentally change the Republicans attitude would be for the Dem's to win another term after this one.
