It happened right in front of the sideline official / assistant referee and they didn't even pay a penalty.

It actually looks more like a 1950's dance move than a tackle. No disrespect to Mitchell, it just shows to me the whole thing was totally over-blown and the citing commissioner was trying to set some sort of example...for what purpose I don't know.

SANZAR and the IRB have been trying to completely shut down anything that looks like a tip tackle for years now. Lachie Mitchell was just the poor guy who was made an example of this time around.

Just wanted to point out what a great move I think it is for Stirzy to go and play ITM Cup. Great way to improve his game outside of his comfort zone.

Big Max Lahiff will be over there as well, would love to see the following guys do the same thing:

Situati, Rokobaro, Alo-Emile, Leafa. Thoughts?

Absolutely. Add Roberts and Hegarty to that list as well. I'd say Woodward, but I think it's better that we confiscate his passport for a few years and see how he develops away from Kiwi eyes.

Can't wait to see Stirzacker and Lahiff especially play in the ITM. Wish there were more Australians from all franchises who went over there for experience.

Obviously, Leali'ifano, Speight, and Salesi Manu are just some names off the top of my head who've played in the ITM Cup, and they improved immensely for it!

so CEO Clarke says that both KB (Kurtley Beale) and JOC (James O'Connor) will be involved on Friday. But where to play them? i suspect JOC (James O'Connor) will play 10 and KB (Kurtley Beale) 15, but will make for interesting discussion at selection this week. personally i would play Beale at 10, slot JOC (James O'Connor) in on the wing in place of Mitchell and leave the rest alone. it is possible neither will actually play or both on the bench ! thoughts everyone ?

I think if JOC (James O'Connor) shows anything it's that if a player can run, pass, and kick does not a 10 make. There's other harder to find and quantify skills.

Sure, Woodward is good at all those things listed above and he's played 10 at lower levels but so has JOC (James O'Connor).

Woodward's a good 15, don't bloody well move him.

Only if they get back from the cross in time: http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport...deans-is-bounced/story-fnh5q2eu-1226676224407

Dump them both. I would like to support them but you just can't.
I know O'Connor has been told he won't be at the Rebels next year but I hope they say the same thing to Beale. They are both more trouble than they are worth.

I am wondering how much influence JOC (James O'Connor) has had on leading Beale astray? If the club is willing to try hang onto Beale and he will no longer be with JOC (James O'Connor) and Buddy maybe he will actually get along with the rest of the playing squad.

Don't think he will try punch Higgers next year if ordered to do something by his captain.

Looking from afar, it would seem that JO'C has had a lot to do with leading Beale astray. Beale should be able to make his own decisions, but I think he is really susceptible to suggestions from JO'C. If that is truly the case, then JO'C is no friend to Beale at all.

If Beale is serious about getting back on track, he would ditch JO'C as a mate.

It certainly appears the club has taken that view. We're all guessing here, but whilst one has been in legal troubles and had drinking issues, the other technically hasn't done anything illegal or unethical yet he is the one the club wishes to cut loose. I'm sure they don't get to that decision lightly.

It takes two to tango. They're both talented but compared to blokes like Scott Higgbotham they're hardly blokes that contribute much to a strong club culture.

Makes me all the more bitter about losing Foley. I'd hazard a guess and say that had we snagged him, both Beale and JOC (James O'Connor) would be out on their arse and begging for scrap contracts in a buyer's market.

Maybe I'm still carrying more than my fair share of bitterness from Saturday's loss, but I have very little patience for blokes like those two. They clearly haven't pulled their heads in after numerous opportunities and nudges to do so, so it's time someone who brooks no crap laces up the kicking boot and straightens them out.

Call their bluffs. Want to play loige at Parramatta Stadium? Go ahead. Want to earn big dollars without the pressure of behavioural expectations? Go to France or Japan.

Hubris is wonderful, I just hope The Brand's able to manage his ego and become stronger for the experience.
