^^^ Is this in response to my question about Sayley's musical choices?

If so, probably a fair bit of Macnamara's Band.

I can't really see him endorsing too much of the douf douf and electronic house indy music favoured by the players. :)

The funniest thing is we are a chance of knocking over wests this week. Something has to be done about Uni they are deadset going close to ruining club rugby.

Well, it's not their fault, apparently. It's the fault of all the other clubs for not working hard enough. :)

Stephen Hoiles is back in 1sts after coming off the bench in 2nds last week:

1 Asa
2 Halangahu
3 Goodbody
4 Ingram
5 Munro
6 Lam
7 Connor
8 Hoiles
9 Helliwell
10 Horwitz
11 Ford
12 Samu
13 Wright
14 Lautolo
15 Koteczky

Will be interesting to see how the pack copes in the scrums against the very big Wests pack and the loss of Hepetema in the centres is a worry. Good to see Koteczky at FB, his best position IMO, and Rennie back to the wing.

Baldwin and Hepetema not named in 2nds -- are they injured?

Baldwin went off with a knee injury last week, Hepetema off to the Uk if the rumours are true

Done that

Wests have one very big player in their pack (Dave Lolohea)
If you take him out I would rate them as relatively small.

Coach u would know better then me what in all seriousness can be done? more alarming then 1st grade was first grade colts in a 1st vs 4th semi went down by 90!!!!!

Pete, there's been a lot of discussion about this on the Shute Shute 2013 forum with some good suggestions and some more negative. IMO the problem lies with the player points cap which just hasn't achieved the spreading of the talent between the clubs. It's actually assisted Uni's business model of "recruit them young onto scholarships and keep them for 5 years by which time they qualify for the 100% loyalty points discount". One thing the points cap has achieved is stopping clubs from poaching established players from other clubs, but again this assists Uni to hold onto all their players. Unless something is done about the points system Uni will continue to dominate. Some suggestions that should be looked at:
(1) apply a second cap to the players registered by the club across all grades and colts with no discounts
(2) gradually phase out the loyalty discount which I believe was the original intention
(3) start the loyalty discount from when a player first signs a S15 contract not when he starts at the club
(4) introduce a tougher points system at colts level which discounts players who have actually come through a clubs junior teams and applies much higher points to players who have represented at schoolboy level so they can't all migrate to the same club

Yeah Leinster I believe on a decent earn for two seasons. Baldwin ACL , Best side available Horwitz will definitely make a difference
I reckon Hoiles will make a difference. he will provide great leadership & IMO had some very classy touches in attack when he came on last week. Also, He nearly broke a Uni player win 2 with a real bell ringer.

Hepetema was quoted recently as saying he was planning to play in the ITM Cup and then return to Aus to try for a S15 contract with the Waratahs. Guess he got a better offer!

Any idea who'll be on the bench for 1s and 2s? Hopefully fresh reserves will have some sort of impact. Agree with macca that hoiles will have a big impact, his experience could be vital.

2nd grade is not playing until Sunday so all the reserves will be fresh.

I notice Drew Mitchell is playing for Balmain on Saturday before heading to France. Pity he didn't decide to play for the Wicks! (Although, on second thoughts, he probably hasn't played enough games this year as I think Balmain is still his nominated club.)

Great to see Hoiles back.
GREAT win by the Wicks today. Thought the forwards dominated despite the hype about the WH pack. Tom Connor & Pete Samu were my picks however the others contributed well.
The Backs were brilliant - hard to find a weak link with Horwitz a standout.
Thought the coach did well - they were obviously out there to run the beefy WH forwards around and it worked a treat.
Special mention about Hoiles - he is pure class and it showed.
Well done boys.
