Amount of flak schoolboy refs cop is outrageous. I know a lot of passionate parents are the worlds best refs but seriously! The newington 13as game today was much the same as any other. Ref was good, but supporters from both sides, overly vocal.

Thought ref of new 1sts game also did a good job ... And touchies (including good ol cobby) did a fine job

At the end of the day, without them, there is no game

Lets get a TMO - they always get i right.......... seriously where has the respect for the ref gone? (exception to Shore ref comments on earlier posts which seems to be unforgivable from a ref) lots at Scots v New today a few hard calls especially when Scots prop send off, then look at Scots V Joeys scrum in last view minutes......... swings and round abouts, all boys need to respect the referee ONLY the captain should speak to him and it needs to be done with respect ........ otherwise we are headed for what we saw in the Sunday herald last week in Penrith..........

Wow ... Good effort by kings in both 1sts and 16as!

My points in newington game would be 3 to number 13, tepai, simply too big, too fast and no ill discipline today. 2 points for the number 1, fifita, great in engine room and in broken play. 1 point taane milne

Although so many in new pack played well that probably an injustice

Scots points ...3 points to starkey, amazing in the midfield. 2 points scots no 8 ?, despite getting nailed a couple of times. 1 point to no 7

Final observation, I have noticed over last few years scots are always looking to run the ball out of their 22, exciting to watch, but when it backfires, as it did today, it puts yourself under way too much pressure.

They need to have some kicking game IMHO.

Terrific game deserving of a less biased referee he completely caned joeys. Not taking away from a determined and tough kings side but the ref soured the game. Joeys two tries to one. Strong games from kings Cameron king and joeys Eddie king and Dylan grant who scored a blistering solo try.

Not making any particular point but I overheard some pretty bad talk from Shore parents when they played New at Northbridge

I'd like to congratulate the boys of the Newington First XV on their victory today. It shows the tremendous spirit and cameraderie which exists in this special group of boys. To defeat a champion team like Scots on their home ground is an amazing performance.

Scots have not beaten New at home since 2006 whilst New have not beaten Scots at home since 2003, an odd statistic but an interesting one at that

He wasn't at Coogee Oval either. Maybe he pulled a hammy rather than demean himself at a schoolboy game.

Then it was five dogs, the 13E, 14B snd 15C' and a smattering of old boys then. Nice to see.

There were many Newington boys in the crowd, including may who had travelled from other sports so, as a lot of your jokes do amuse, give credit where credit is due

Shame 3 key players were playing 2nds today - Wright, Finnane and Horton. When penalty count is 18-3 against you, it makes a tough day at the office.

A very good game of rugby between Kings and Joeys today, joeys up 14-0 early but Kings came back with power and excellent ball skills in the back line. kings dominant in the loose, over shadowing Joeys significantly at the breakdown. kings scrum also dominant especially when Sandell injured. Kings/Riverview game next week will be very close.

Agreed why did TSC not kick out of 22???? every time they they went wide without kicking they were shut down ...... first half wind in their face second half wind at their backs no change in tatics>.......great effort by new in their face all game ........ they were exceptional...........

Ordinarily I think it is poor to blame the ref but today was disgraceful. Starved of the ball and constantly being pulled up I thought the joeys boys still outplayed kings. But so it goes

Agree on all coments on the TSC and New game. This is what rugby should be all about. The best game I've seen in years. Credit to both schools for the display. The only negative is the unsportsmanlike behavior of the Scots Old Boys on the hill booing and revving a motor bike when the New 9 was goal kicking. Poor form boys !!
Scots looked shattered at the end as they seemed to just have no answer for the speed and physicality of the New game. All in all a great day. I feel for Shore and Joyes next week !!

it was the 1993 reunion up on the hill for Scots ....... perhaps a reminder to both sides ...... you get what what you pay for...........
