To me Taps 12 CFS 13 and JJT 11 would offer a much better risk-reward profile vs Brums than the way RG has it for this match.

CFS was just getting 13 right at last and Taps remains a natural 12 IMO despite some good recent play at 13. I have never been a fan of Harris as a true attacking 12 next to QC (Quade Cooper) (his ball handling and control under pressure near the line also worries me) and IMO we have to build a stable pairing there that complements QC (Quade Cooper) vs yet more forcing him into the role of a 10 'responsible for everything'.

Whatever, the bigger issue is the lack of sustained attacking ensemble play by the Reds backs combined with far too many instances of poor passing, reckless grubbering and dropsies near the line.

Meehan needs to finally step up and show what he's made of as attack coach more than any individual Reds player per se.

Fainga'a is the starting 12, but I see your point and in the long term I agree, but Taps form at 13 the past 2 weeks has been very good, you could excuse RG from wanting to move the one player who is providing an attacking threat in the back- line.

I agree with this. My preference (when Ant and Taps are your centres) is to have them the other way around but, my god, Taps has been good with that extra space the last couple of weeks.

One more point re CFS - I have found that at wing CFS tends to loiter somewhat - almost a 'shy' player if you like - and appears as though waiting for the action to be made for him vs say an Ioane that would be constantly hunting for engagement with QC (Quade Cooper) or ball-carrying forwards.

Whilst at 13 I reckon CFS is 'forced' into a far more constant pattern of attacking involvement which he ends up thriving in. He's been particularly impressive in evading defence in that last 10 metres out from the try line, shown some great skill and points-yield there.

Walsh is good. You know what you get.

Think he is one ref that will police the constant Brums infringements around the ruck - expect him to yeallow a few of our southern cousins (hopefully)

If you watched the clinic we put on the blues the Brumbies were much better in this area. But we play hard at the ruck, doesn't mean we are infringing. And I hope Walsh just blows what he see's.

So looks like Young Tom Staniforth might get the nod for a run on start. I'm personally looking forward to see what his got. His got Future Brumbies Captain written all over him, and dare I say his one to watch for in the Gold one day.

Anyone seen much of him ?

As they're the two top teams as far as penalties conceded goes, I'm sure Walsh will get plenty of screen time. BTW @Hawko, I'm a she, not a he.

How I feel when I see a reds 15 that arranges tapuai at 13 and ant Fainga'a at 12.

Makes no sense, Taps is a better 12 than 13 and a better 12 than ant. Ant is a better 13 than he is a 12 and probably a better 13 than taps. Mind boggling stuff from Graham despite Mikey only pulling out today.

Disappointing not to see the back row given a little shuffle.

hammertime, Ant is really a better 12 than 13.

Though I agree, that the best compromise is Taps at 12 and Ant at 13.
