Number fourteen for Churchie was brilliant. thought he added some great counterattack to the Churchie backline

Tyrone Southorn reminded me a lot like the red headed rocket from Scots college, Andrew Kellaway. .Brilliant.

SFS who was the Churchie winger? Quigley or Obrien? What happened to Dempsey from 2013 Firsts.

Add to that a back-line that cuts like a hot knife through butter.. very early days but could it finally be the year of BBC?

Hot knife through butter???Which game did you watch on Saturday.??
I saw a slick 10 & 15 and two athletic 6 foot 6 locks.
But I also saw a 9 that threw some bad passes and 2 huge league centres that kept running back inside into the ruck.
However for the 1st time in 106 years there was real depth.

One may also ask " What game did you watch?"
I saw number 5 trip a player from a penalty and got sent off. Is that athletic?
As for 10, threw 3 forward passes and turned the ball over several times.
You mean a 9 that played like an extra forward, first to the break down digging for the ball.
Its amazing how we all view the outcome differently.

You are right. every GPS school has league boys in the system.
What concerns me is that many of these boys do not seem to understand/ take advantage of the opportunities that a GPS school offers.Rather their (or probably their parents)plans A,B & C are whether they can make it in league. They are now being offered $ to sign contracts at 15.There are some boys in NRL under 20 on >$100,000 contracts.

Some league boys do get it. Good to see Josh Bowen take time off from the broncos to take his grade 7 brother watch BBC match on Saturday and work with BBC back line . Looks like he has put on 10kg of muscle

Good points. Nice to know after comfortably beating Nudgee .... there still is a lot of room for improvement.

Let's keep it in perspective ;
1) it was not comfortable
2) it was the BBC A. Team
3) nudgee were without 2 Aussie schoolboys And 1 Qld A player

Off course, hyperbole, but ...it was BBC's first hit out as a 23.
Also BBC's depth is not as good as some think.
I noticed the scrummaging weakened when they lost their 3 (no more Nudgee front row with their feet dangling off the ground), & too many pointless penalties.

Herbert Moran (7)
12. Jayden Sua
13. Izzie Prease

Wow that is firepower. Why did they have to recruit Sua.
Perese was already the best player in comp.

Wonder if any new "full fee paying students"(sic) will turn up in the next couple of months this year.Remember Richie A last year!:)

If those 2 boys connect in what I would expect is hoped, they will give teams a big headache in having to defend them (I have watched them both play league and no explanation needed for Perese and his conversion to god's game). Is Perese injured? didn't see him play in trials last weekend (however surely would be one of first picked) and my boy told me Sua is not even trialling for GPS? Am also told trials are at GT.

what i have heard is that brodie croft who is in grade 11 is mack mason's replacement for next year.

churchie is turning into a league school, bring in players with big futures in league (Richie A, Fox, Mason, Perese, Sua and Ponga) I always thought leagues were the best rugby players ;)

Perese/Sua if those two clicked (which i believe they will because of their league background they will be unstoppable)

what i have heard is that perese has had knee problems in the past which made him miss the first trial but i do think he is coming back for this weekend

Perease has recently had knee operations/heavy rehab. Not sure if he'll be 100% for the trials. Richie A/Harley Fox from my background knowledge have always been more union than league players, not sure what you're trying to say there 'big futures in league'?

Has anyone seen the final trials teams for this weekends gps games. I think this new system is very average surely the coaches have an idea about their quality players but I guess the problem still is with some average individuals pushing to many players.

Looking forward to seeing the A teams this year. Might be some interesting results, so don't read to much into last years form.

Any comments on the schools program as a whole? What's happening on the ground for the A program's of schools.
