Morning all, disappointed by the Canberra hating. Born and raised, if suggest for it's size it punches well above it weight.

The rain is gone. I've read the newspapers, green and gold and even The Roar. I'm nervous but anticipating Tah victory. What to do for the rest of the day?

Light rain all night up here in the beautiful Blue Mountains, fog came up to my back verandah about 9:30, however, the sun's out now (midday) and it's all clear.

Don't take it personally mate, it's all just trash talk to counter the crap from some of the cockier trash-talking Brumbies boys like Tomikin here.

Canberra certainly punches above its weight, but let's not forget most of its players are products of the NSW and Qld development systems.

True, which is why it's so good for Australian Rugby to have sides like the Brumbies, Force and Rebels - it gives those guys who've been passed over a chance to shine.

Seriously can't wait to see the Wallabies back line in action though after all this - having Speight and Folau linking up with guys like To'omua, Beale (if his tackling is considered test worthy), Kurindrani and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) will be be a sight to see.

The only weakness in our backline is our goal kicking...

I came on last night to a Tahs circle jerk.. I was just bringing some common sense to the thread. ;)

I've found a pretty good chat program that could be great for live events.

It's called slack, and there are three ways to use it:
1. The web page - https://gagr.slack.com/messages/tahs-v-brumbies/
2. The android app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Slack&hl=en
3. The iOs app - https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/slack-team-communication/id618783545?mt=8

The only catch is you have to register an account, and to do that we need your email address.
If you're keen to have a look, and to chat during tonight's match, post your email address below.
We are going live for the Tahs Brumbies game anyone interested DM me or email me at sully@greenandgoldrugby.com

Anyone live near the ground and know if it has copped a battering overnight or not? Most reports suggest there shouldn't be much if any rain left before the game but be good to hear from someone nearby.

It rained pretty steadily (but not heavily) overnight and until about 11 am. Sun's out now, but I suspect the ground will stay a bit wet underfoot. Shouldn't be too bad.

Reasons Why the Brumbies Will Triumph Over the Waratahs

I have tried to come up with reasoned arguments relating to why the Brumbies will feast upon the flowers of NSW. As you can see, through precise statistical analysis I am being in no way unbiased.
The Brumbies can play both conservative and expansive football, the Waratahs will run it which is their strength. The Brumbies will know what to expect, but the Tahs do not. This makes preparation for the game more problematic for the Waratahs and may result in organisational errors.
The Tah’s defensive frailties have been glossed over by their resounding win against the then injury depleted Brumbies at Homebush. Over the two head to head fixtures the Tahs missed 64 tackles, while the Brumbies missed less than half that number(31). This is especially curious when you consider that the Tahs had nearly twice as many runs (245 v 125).
When playing against each other this year Mogg averages a try in Folau’s face per game. Folau only gets 0.5 tries per game, well down from his season average of 0.77. It’s especially poor from Folau when you consider even Ben Robinson averages the same against the Brumbies.
The Brumbies have more recent experience of finals football. The Waratahs last foray into the post season was three years ago, and they lost. The Brumbies played last week and won.
Over the last 12 months the Brumbies have won every away semi-final, including downing the highly fancied Bulls in Johannesburg.
Every time the ‘Tahs have played the brumbies after a bye this year, the Brumbies have won.

If all that evidence isn’t enough, last time the Brumbies played a final in Sydney they won 51- 10, spookily that game was a semi-final against the Waratahs, at the SFS!

I don't think there's been a huge amount of rain. Probably started around 5am and was really just drizzle. Got a bit heavier around 8am for a couple of hours then stopped around 11.

Been pretty sunny since soon after midday.

I'm less than 1km from the ground.

. I think the reason Tahs fans seem to be coming across as the more nervous is that they have the greater expectations.

I liken it to scoring a century in cricket - you can get into the 90s, and play without error all that time. But if you don't get there, it feels somehow worse than if you got out for 3. Because next time, you need to start again.

Or another scenario - I was out riding my bike with a mate, and we got to 92 km as we neared home. I was totally shattered, but figure if I quit now I'd just have to start again some day if I wanted to get to 100.

Steve Waugh wrote in one of his books that there comes a point where you have trained so long, worked so hard, and put in so much, that you simply can't let anyone get in your way.

That's what I'm feeling.

Good news fuckers: Pfitzy is on the train and on his way in.

Lock up your daughters, wives, and maybe even your Mum!

19 years without success (including 6 to this point) after being talked up in your country as the favourite for every one of them probably plays on your mind too at this juncture.

I assume the Brumbies don't quite have the same expectation of impending doom based on past similar situations which eases the nerves a tad.
