Agreed.
I think the general public would be bored shitless and change the channel after 20minutes.
Even with weather issues I think the general public would wonder why if there is so much money on offer in Rugby why cant they do the basics. It looks like this issue has gone from the Reds to the Wallabies.

I get frustrated with players dropping the ball and 3 different players missing a tackle on a winger when any decent contact would have moved him 3cm into touch.

Australia has the skills to be number one in the world, we have the skills to win the Bledisloe every year, but we also possess the skills to perform like a high school team and lack the basics in the same game.

I have read about NFL teams that make rookies carry a ball around for the first month they are with the team, if they drop the ball or it gets stolen (by a team mate) they are penalised. Maybe this kind of primitive training combined with basic skills sessions of pass and catch could make a difference.

Yes, the elbow counts. It was a pathetic way to end the match. Another example of Glenn Jackson's incompetence - froze in the headlights as he always does when the pressure is on. There was no way he was going to award the Argies a penalty in that last scrum, let alone a penalty try no matter how many times we dropped it.

Well done IRB with the yes 9 call - what should have been a tension filled last 3 minutes ended up two and a half minutes of scrum resets and then a free kick against the scrum half for putting the ball in before the ref was ready.

I think we held on according to the letter of the law but didn't look strong in those last scrums or many others.

Godwin's another flyhalf conversion which is something I'd like to leave behind, given that the most successful iteration of that plan was E Flatley more than a decade ago (between Larkham and Mortlock, which didn't hurt).

I'd like to see Kerevi given a shot.

It really does look like school boy rugby at times. Dropped balls, Poor decision making, Passing going behind the man constantly, No-one running any good lines, No-one running onto the ball at speed, just really one dimensional attack.

I swear we had over-laps 3-4 times out wide but managed to stuff it up some-how every time.

In hindsight I think we were going to run away with the game, the team got complacent, Link subbed on the bench and it all went pear shaped..

but we have now won 9 of our last 11 I think and the only scars on that record are against the darkness..twice

Really? Giteau played there in mid 2000s and gunned it. It was only when he went to 10 that he went South. Horan was a fly half conversion too, and like Godwin couldn't play 10 once he moved.

That's the conundrum of Michael Hooper. He is easily the most consistent, best player the Wallabies have, but he is not filling one of the core requirements of an Australian number 7. Our backrow balance has been off since Ben Mowen left and I'm trying to work out why those two complimented each other so well at international level.
