I had a mate who isn't a Union fan but kinda getting into it say oh our pools so tough we are screwed. Im like when was the last time Wales beat us.. England have and be tough and we will hammer Fiji. We will be fine

Based on history we would have to be a 50% chance of defeating England. We'd be a 90% chance of defeating Wales.

We lost the game to England last EOYT because of Genia's shit box kick, off our line, that was subsequently charged down and the Pommies got 7 points. The game totally changed at that point.

I think we are now not that stupid (I hope)

There were a couple of major refereeing blunders as well.

Not complaining, merely saying we were well in the game.

We should progress but the damage will have been done in terms of fatigue.

Or you could get a much thorough test early on and have a competitive advantage going into the quarter finals where the other teams could relatively undercooked.

I wouldn't worry about fatigue too much, it'll hit every squad equally by the quarter finals, itll be more down to the physio set up by that stage.

Reckon the latest saga will fade and McKenzie will not only take us to RWC but will get an extension of a further 3 years - similar to Robbie.

The biggest problem with the next WC is the depth of our squad, we always talk about the dream team with: James Slipper, Stephen Moore, Sekope Kepu, David Pocock, Michael Hooper, Wycliff Palu, Will Genia, Quade Cooper, Henry Speight, James O'Connor, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Folau and others but that never happens, we will never have all of them at once, and our bench isn't the same level than NZ bench or SA bench.

That's my biggest fear, for example, we don't have top class replacements for James Slipper nor Sekope Kepu. At the hooker is where we have more depth with Stephen Moore and TPN, but right now both are injured. So if Slipper or Kepu are injured will be a real catastrophe and we don't have world class replacements for them.

Yeah but I'm not sure. Argies managed to beat us after 17 years. That could be an extra motivation for the Welsh, they were close to doing at times. If the team doesn't improve, it could happen

On form both Robinson and Sio are top class. Your asking for a bit much don't you think? We can't have a TPN and Moore in each position. I don't think the All blacks even have that kind of depth in each position.

NZ and SA have more depth. We have that kind of depth in all positions less at the front row and second row.

I'm worried because sometimes we have problems in the scrum even with Slipper and Kepu together, then when they aren't is a real disaster as the second half against Argies in Gold Coast this year. Then Sio and Robinson aren't top class, with ALL the problems we've had in the scrum I can't believe there are people who say Sio and Robinson are top class.

Both, England and Wales have better front row than us and both are going to play at home, what that means. We can't afford to have ONE injured in our front row for those battles in the next WC.

There is still a long Super Rugby season and a lot of test matches before the WC, plus we haven't had luck with injuries

Citing a game that neither of them played probably wasn't the best piece of evidence.

Kepu and Slipper have been very durable for quite a while. Hopefully that continues. It is actually good management FOR both players that they get replaced at 50-60 odd minutes during test matches, even though a fatiged Keps and Slipper are probably still better than the bench.

The big problem has been when they are replaced the game just seems to change (well our intensity) a degree, 2 or 5.

It is the same with Hooker - Moore offers all, TPN maybe a degree or 2 less but thereafter, probably 5 - 10% less.

Its a game of percentages

Ok, Robinson and Sio are top class players. Then Wallabies have the best front row in the world with 6 top class players: Moore, TPN, Slipper, Kepu, Sio and Robinson!

Then all the problems we have had in the scrum in these years were just a figment of my imagination and the Wallabies have won the last 3 Bledisloe Cups

No one is suggesting our prop stocks are amazing, particularly below our starting XV options.

If you want to discuss it though, at least try and use some reasoning.

Robinson has a lot of experience and is generally considered a good scrummager. Seemingly he was behind Sio and Cowan because his workrate round the field is inferior. Sio got injured and now Robinson is preferred ahead of Cowan so presumably Robinson's scrummaging is rated as superior and that is winning him the spot now.

Sio is also a LHP who McKenzie suggested would be trained up for THP at the start of the test season. He's subsequently been injured and hasn't played since.

Our THP options are probably where we have a problem. Alexander is a clear backup to Kepu but he struggles badly at times. Behind him we've got Laurie Weeks.
