I'm reliably informed that all players are now available for BBC Firsts (including reps) tomorrow apart from the scrum half, who is out for about 4 games (not the season).

Round 1 wobbles:
TSS V BGS
The light blue dark blue will make the trip down the M1 with high hopes of staying within 30 points of TSS.
It’s a fair enough aim given the absolute pastings they endured last year. The beach boys will have other ideas, as they usually start quicker than a Bali tourist heading to the airport before an ash cloud.
The best mums in the business will be on the sidelines, but bikinis will be replaced with beanies as the arctic vortex moves across the canals and blows one of the goal posts over before kick off.
The grammar lads will quickly and studiously put the posts back up while the Southport team just sit in the grand stand. This will sap any energy the Grammar lads bought with them and TSS will run right over the top of them, when they can be bothered to start playing.

Nudgee Vs TGS
The T-ba boys will come down tonight to prep themselves for the game and to acclimatize to Sea Level conditions. Teams unlucky enough to play on the flats will in fact be playing below sea level, so TGS teams will struggle down there. The firsts however, should be fine. They booked the local Hungry Jacks out after seeing it listed on Air BnB.
So they’ll be fatter than Oprah after Thanksgiving. The greasy carbo loading will do wonders for their scrum too and they’ll wheel Nudgee around Ross Oval all afternoon. It won’t be enough though as the mountain men will fall just short of the bingo butchers. The T-ba lads will make the most of the trip and spend the rest of the weekend sunning themselves on the mud flats at Nudgee beach.

BBC v IGS
Ah the hallowed fields of Toowong beckon. IGS are still having nightmares about the 70 point flogging the kilt wearers handed out in the last game of last season. So much so half the Ippy team will stop at the Goodna RSL on the way down to drown their sorrows with a couple of Woodstocks and a game of Keno.
This won’t be good for over all performance and using Gatordade as a mixer won’t help either. After a surprisingly good start from Ippy and a quick biff between their own front row, a couple of Ippy boys will bring their counter meals up on the middle of Miskin and BBC will pile on the points as their back three make swiss cheese of the Ippy D. Ensuring the BBC parents will be suitably annoying next week when they play TSS.

Churchie V Terrace
Easily the closest match up of the round in terms of the game and the supporters. In fact if no one wears a scarf or a stupid supporters hat you won’t be able tell who is going for who. It won’t be till you go out to the car park that you can spot the difference. People movers double parked all over the streets of East Brisbane and Range Rovers valet parked right near the swimming pool and the foot massage tent. They know how to do it at Churchie!
On the field this will be close. The Red and Black will look like fat kids in a vat of smarties - they’ll be all over the Churchie boys in the first 10 minutes. In fact for a while it will look like the Terrace boys might open their account with a win. In the second half Churchie will bring on Quade Cooper (he’s going to do Grade 11 for the third time), and be too strong in the end. It will be a good warm up for Quade as he’ll then go to Suncorp Stadium and play the house down as the Wallabies roll the Bokkas.

Actually there are 8 from year 11 I'm being told with a few year 11 squad members similar to other schools/

And yet another Qld GPS rugby season about to commence.

My tip is for Nudgee to take out the premiership. They have been consistently strong in this age group over the years hardly dropping a game in that time. I think their forwards are just too strong all over the park and probably have the form flyhalf directing traffic.

TSS and BBC are probably the danger teams. I may have tipped BBC under different circumstances but it seems a long lead up with the Sanix tournament has taken its toll.

Best of luck to all players and enjoy your rugby.

Warrenwobble, you are a legend. Keep it going.

My tip is NC for the premiership. However I'd wager ACGS are more of a threat than people seem to be thinking. I'd put them right alongside BBC and TSS

Churchie slow to fold 10 minutes in to the first half. Ball swung right to Quillian Pritchard-Malaki, who gets on the outside of his defender, giving wing Will Eddie one to beat. A slight shimmy is enough to break through the tackle of Jack Mason, and GT lead 5-0.

Churchie strike back instantly, with Su'a showing a great burst of acceleration through the line, taking contact and offloading to Jack Mason. Mason sidesteps off the left to beat the cover defence, crossing 15 in from touch. An unsuccessful conversion leaves the score at 5-0.

Flyhalf Brodie Croft dummies his way through the line, beating seven defenders on a fantastic run through the midfield to score. Croft corrects his radar, taking ACGS to a 12-0 lead.

Churchie kick a penalty after a Terracian offisde (tighthead prop - poor kid is having a rough time of it. The scrum is being belted too).

Terrace manages to strike back, a ridiculous cut out pass over the midfield finding the turf - Quillian Pritchard-Malaki is in the right place at the right time, picking up the loose pill and streaking away for the corner. Conversion successful, 15-12 to Churchie.

Churchie regather the kick-off and Sam Wallis records a strong run through the middle, bouncing off a tackle and offloading to his halfback. The ball is sent wide for Brodie Croft, who crosses for his second try of the half, taking that man to 12-individual points. Churchie lead 20-15.

Churchie repel Terrace from their own goalline, kicking for touch to bring about halftime.

Terrace boot the ball long from inside their 22, but fail to find touch. Churchie watch the ball dribbling towards the sideline, unaware of a strong chase from Terrace wing Will Eddie. Eddie grubbers the ball ahead to the in-goal, and chasing it down to score a dramatic equalising try in the corner. Isaac Lucas kicks the clutch conversion, and GT lead 22-20.

Terrace work their way back in to Churchie's territory, and an ill-advised penalty sends Churchie's tighthead to the bin for ten. Pat Carrigan steps up to the plate and sinks the three, carrying GT to a 25-20 lead.

Churchie cross on the left only to be called back for a forward pass. Terrace survive, and kick the ball away.

Jayden Su'a latches on to a pass, and runs a slick line all the way to the tryline - they say the star players step up when needed, and Churchie certainly needed him then. Croft converts, ACGS lead by two.

Churchie's left winger goes on a long run on a kick return, beating six, taking contact in midfield. The ball is shovelled right, and Churchie's outside centre has two much pace for the retreating Terrace line.

THE TRY IS DISALLOWED - James McMillan is served a card for an incident in backplay as Croft lines up his conversion. Terrace have a scrum 22 out from the line, trailing by two points!

Sweeping backline move to the right, but Will Eddie is bundled in to touch!

Terrace win a penalty for a high tackle on the 22 m line, 15 in from left touchline, but reject the penalty goal attempt for a lineout. The throw is not straight, and Churchie survive a real scare.

A frantic final period ends when Brodie Croft clears the ball, securing the 27-25 victory.
