This is how most of the French attacking rucks look to me:

- French player is tackled and goes to ground
- NZ tackler goes to ground between the French attacker and his support
- French support has to struggle to get past NZ tackler
- NZ support have longer to pilfer as the French support have been obstructed.

Obviously there is a fine line between loitering just enough and being penalised but it seems to me that NZ are afforded more leniency than other teams with this.

What was that pass to himself by NMS, followed by a Tuqiriesque crab across field?

Am I the only one who's noticed that on the few occasions the frogs have made breaks there have been lazy AB runners in exactly the right position to block the halfback?

Not to take anything away from a performance which should get the "favourites" albatross off our necks.

The ABs are showing more ferocity and aggression in their tackles. Look at their line speed and just how eager every AB seems to be to make tackles and punish the French ball carriers.

The 1/2 time stats don't paint a very pretty picture for Les "Rouges". Far too many missed tackles.

it's an IRB directive to let NZ get away with stuff. Don't blame Owens.

Not sure what that has to do with what i said. I'm not doubting that NZ have been the much better team tonight.

That turnover by NZ at 43mins is exactly what I was talking about. NZ pilfered while France never had a chance to contest the ruck due to the position of the NZ tackler.
