Let's hope all this media coverage translates into healthy home crowds for the Ponies this year, attendances have been somewhat disappointing the last few years. There was a time (what, 10 years ago?) when the Brumbies' numbers were significantly and regularly higher than those for the Raiders. Not recently. Not that I, as a Tahs supporter, can brag about crowd figures at the SFS.....

Brumbies CEO was on the radio and said the latest offer to Pocock was to have 2017 off and come back in 18/19 and hopefully an answer soon.

Whether that 2017 is playing in England or away from rugby completely wasn't mentioned.

But you'd think after 2 years off with the knee injuries and all the emotional toll that took on him, a year away completely wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Jones also said that in terms of single ticket purchases to Brumbies home games, the highest so far is for the Japan game. With the Embassy here, it makes sense.

The interest in regards to Japan is not surprising as there is a fairly big community here in Canberra; Australia Japan Society and UC also has large student group in addition to the diplomatic linkages.

I think we (Brumbies and Aussie teams) need to mirror what the have done with their website and have language choices (JAP / ENG). The Brumbies not only need Japanese, but also Spanish as I believe Cubelli will have a decent following.

IMHO its marketing 101 and the Brumbies are missing opportunities t right now. Have a look at how the Reds have marketed Goromaru and the benefits.

As I understand Speight is available for the first 5 matches with the brumbies then goes to the Oz 7s... Can he return later in the season? If so when? Can he play wallabies too in 2016?

Rio Olympics is 5-21 Aug. So you'd say he'll only be available from September onwards.

He'd miss the first two TRC matches vs NZ.

Henry has reportedly already dropped 5 kg training for 7s. If he continues the 7s involvement, he will presumably be even lighter by the time Rio comes around. Going on his performance in the Reds' trial recently, I'd have to say he will probably lose his test spot for the remainder of this year. May even have trouble getting a starting spot in the Brumbies (unfortunately).

This season? Say it'd be a toss up between ahwong and Taliuali (spelling), as a more like for like replacement. Dargaville is always a shot but I'd rather see him on the bench ready to cover 11, 13, 14, 15.
