RR2014

My mate told me this morning that the Bank v Brothers game was a cracker.
Brothers were ahead and the Bank came back to draw and then the fullback number 22 kicked the winning kick from the sideline. He said 22 also scored a good try in the 1st half.
Is 15 Coward injured or got injured? Tough game this week vs. Bond but should be a good game as well.
Looking forward to game Wests vs. GPS tonight (if still on).

I think all the tipsters are waiting for the catch up games to be played. Bond vs UQ will possibly only be played in July. Sage our tipping this week is remarkably similar, getting close to the finals and the teams seem to be hitting some predictability and consistency or will there be a few curve balls ahead?

No I think the #22 was Josh Coward. Saw him in the Australian Schoolboy Championships last year in Sydney. From memory was playing #15 but also played some #9 for the Victorian Schoolboys (Rebels?).

Whilst a good prospect, I haven't yet pictured where he will actually play in the future. Part of me says #15, maybe #12, but I really think he could be a very good #9. Why the move to Queensland??

He'd be really good at 7's IMO.

Yeah the game was good if you like running with no tackling. The defence of both backs left a lot to be desired. The kick was 15 m in 20 m out, not too hard and apparently missed according to some.....I didn't really see it.

Overall an exciting game, but very difficult to see much of the play as the lights were not great. Couldn't really see beyond a 25 m radius. Whereas on the main oval could see everything clearly.

HTC 1, 2, 3 of beating The Bank. Line speed, tackle and clear breakdown.

Don't think your forwards would have any trouble with them, there backs have their moments, but their defence was not good.

Brothers made a few changes at half time which did not work; by the time they brought back some of the guys they took off the game was level. Also made some errors which cost them; 3 penalties not kicked out, one costing them about 55 m scrum in attacking zone, not tackling etc.

The Bank boys were very happy with the result, and you might of thought that they had won a cup?! So their confidence will be high.

Yeah except for major f-ups, and assuming that games mirror the first half to a degree, I think the top four are pretty settled. The best team by a way is Bond; For the forwards I would place the top 4 as, Bond, Brothers, UQ and The Bank; for the Backs Bond, UQ, The Bank = Brothers.

I think Brothers will be o'k with The Bank and UQ, just gotta figure out a strategy for Bond.

Agreed - extremely ugly game.
Ref was atrocious for both teams - if that is a premier colts standard ref then we are in trouble.

Yeah, the Ref in the Bank v Brothers game made some unusual calls as well. However as said the light was not good, so maybe the benefit of the doubt required.

The game, itself and in general was not ugly, thank god.

O'k I think it's time to put forward your teams nominations for the Premier Colts North v Premier Colts South game (if held).

So maybe if you nominate 7 players from your club and some from other clubs. Some of the players returning from last year:

Premier North Colts

Robby MaCaffrey - Brothers
Rhys Martin - Brothers
Connor Moroney - UQ
Jacob Pinkney - Norths
Harry Parcell - GPS
Alex Horan - UQ

Premier South Colts

Johann Koorts - Souths
Rodney Pits - Souths
Jezzy Ione - Sunnybank

Agree with those selections HTC. Now this is not the Queensland U20 we are talking about yet, so you can include a few more. Need 50 players in total.

From Brothers:

2. Robby MaCaffrey 3. Will Wison 6. Jackson Evans 7. Tom Zappala
8. Rhys Martin 11. Lorenzo Skelton 13. Kailab Coventry and maybe 15. Chris Morgan.

I have not seen GPS, Wests or Easts play, however of the others, would probably include:

Jezzy Ioane, Sunnybank, Hamish Stewart, Bond, James MacMillan, UQ, Alex Horan UQ Rodney Pita Souths, and Jordan Lenac UQ.

Maybe there should be 3 games as well? All before any NRC games held at Ballymore? This gives the guys more time together, and testing each other's skills/injuries at a higher level.

May as well throw my hat in the ring for a few players for the Norths v Souths Colts game excluding the obvious 20's players:

North:
Conor Moroney(7 for Uni)
Sam Wallis(8 for Uni)
Big Emmanuel(Lock for Brothers)
Effie Maafu(Wests Hooker)
Wests half-back(no idea of his name but has blonde hair)
Jordan Tupai(Norths)
