Especially the second one. Got busted trying to get into the stadium to support the team? In terms of major Olympic sins, to me that's well down the list.

Might end up getting him on a plane home, though. And that's probably fair enough - rules are rules after all. But I hope the ARU leave it at that.

Hopefully 7 has fixed their app by then and Foxtel has 1000 channels to show every minute of every event (including a Hayne cam where he watches the Olympics on his couch)

The blame actually lays with the host broadcaster (not Seven) for the issues plaguing the app early on...........

Well I finally got to see the men's 400m final. That was close to the perfect performance. In lane eight and with nobody to chase, van Niekerk went hard out of the blocks, hard along the back straight, hard at 200m, and held his form all the way home. Incredible.

Coverage was a complete disaster unless you wanted to spend extra money to watch it on your phone.

Channel 7 clearly have forgotten the concept of the replay and 7two and 7mate spent a large proportion of viewable hours screening normal programming (i.e. reality type shows), when they could have been screening olympics 24/7.

Fox managed to keep 5 channels going on non-stop olympic coverage 24/7 in 2012, clearly 7 were incapable of doing so.

Pathetic. Made a democratic decision to take my viewing elsewhere and just watched the highlights on the nightly news (not 7)

One hopes that a real review will be held after these olympics in relation to how significant sums of taxpayer funds are spent. The bulk of our successes seem to have been athletes not involved in the Winning Edge programme.

I loved the women's rugby win, but my favourite Aussie gold was Esposito in the Women's Modern Pentathlon. A real achievement by any measure and from a sport which received $25,000 in government funds.

I can't help but think our Olympic priorities are all wrong. We seem to put way too much emphasis on gold medals.
