Tonga 32 CHS 12.
First half CHS quite competitive but second half Tonga ran away with the ball a bit.

CHS very short of players, around 16 in total only. Struggling for forwards.
I am guessing injury, school commitments, or school leavers impacting the squad.

Faessler is a gun player - definitely a Barbarians' type.

I liked the looks of him in the nationals. He is certainly good with ball in hand, but it is the other general and particular attributes that will define him in rugby when he leaves school.

^^^ Rixon is a superstar.

Agree that the left winger was probably out of his depth.

Also thought the Aus 5-Brown and 9-Jordan were some of the better players out there.

I have to make a comment on some of the issues arising out of the game.

1. Why was there not a booklet with team lists? Even if people had to pay for them. It would have been appreciated.

2. Why did the team only have a three day camp? They looked rusty, the warm up game Tonga enjoyed was noticeable. They could have waited till the upcoming holidays and played 2 games over a week while learning more from some expert coaching staff.

3. How much influence does the coach have over selections? 4 newington players in the team was almost laughable. The sooner the coaching is taken over by someone appointed by the ARU without ties to a specific school the better.

This is an Australian Schools Rugby Union Team, not an Australian Rugby Union Team.

Seems only fair that ASRU select and appoint Team officials.

Which ARU appointed coach do you think would/should do the job of coaching these school children?

The left winger from the programme was Jordan Petaia who played for Combiined States in the Schoolboy Championships and was very impressive as a centre, not a winger. He didnt played badly today; he went pretty good, but looks better suited as a centre.

Speedster Jackson Mohi who excelled for NSW1 was the right fit for the team today on the left wing but unfortunately didn't get the call up.
