I am struggling to come up with some coaching/selecting rationale for not giving those 3 players some game time. Unless each boy had a hidden injury, all reasonable coaches would send them onto the field.
Only 23 players can be named. The squad is 26 so 3 are not required at all for each match.

I'm not sure if this was the reason Shane referred to last year. Or 3 of the 23 named did not get any game time.

I didn't say it was the key, just that everyone has the same opportunity. This thread is about Australian Schoolboys i.e. the actual team chosen to represent not the social justice thread. Try the "Decline in Junior Rugby" thread.

Are you honestly telling me what I know is correct is incorrect? That's bold.

Do you think your experience encapsulates the entirety of Australian rugby?

This veered off from your original point, but that aside this is called the
"Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2016" thread and not the "Talk about the actual team chosen to represent the Australian Schoolboys" thread.

I'd suggest you're narrowing the definition to what you specifically want to discuss.

You used the word "most", had you said "some" or "a few" there would be no argument.

Most of these boys are at school for an education and happen to be very good a rugby.

Plenty of these boys were selected via state B teams and even association B teams and combined states.

So I don't think many of them were assuming automatic selection.

And I think they are all pretty thrilled to be part of it.

No I didn't say "most". Check your post above if you need to, I can't edit it and it sure as hell doesn't say what you're saying.

Apologies for the misquote.

I don't think there are "alot" either.

I could name 2 NSW boys who appear set to play professional rugby. I have no idea how their studies are going and if they intend to do further studies. Don't know too much about the interstate boys. Other than most appear to being schooled at very fine institutions.

The rest of them I am sure are talking to clubs and looking at whatever scholarships are about at various unis.

What are you even talking about?

You're just misquoting and making points that aren't even tangentially connected to what I said.

All I know is the Gossip that comes from this place.

Thought 1 boy had been linked with France and another with 7's.

The only other professionals were linked with 5 kick. Pretty sure there might be some qld boys with this connection. But the NSW ones bailed out of champs.

I don't pretend to know them all, so could be well wrong.

OK - I thought you were talking Kurtley Beale style full contract with the Tahs beginning October.

@amirite, not sure exactly what you are saying.

If you have good knowledge on what the boys are up to, then there is a thread dedicated to such things; The Class of 2016 thread.

Last I looked, there wasn't too much on any of these boys.

Anyway side tracking a bit.

So does anyone know anything of the opposition these boys will be playing.

I see Tongan Schools should be here any day and play Patritian Brothers on the 8 of Sep. Then a NSW CHS team at Newcastle on 13/9.

Has that CHS team been selected? And do boys on Higher duties play?

I saw Patrician Brothers play yesterday at the Waratah Cup GF.
They looked good, they knew what they were doing, and I think they will give the Tongan boys a good game.
They must have a pretty good coach too as their scrums and line outs looked good.
There are a lot of PI and Maori boys in the Brothers team so in terms of size they will be fair match.
