Smith is heading to David Wilson, Great pick up at his peak can be a real talent and great goal kicker. Another loss for dogs

Yes, big loss..... Easts will be benefit from his humble personality, selfless approach, advice and positive reinforcement towards fellow team mates at training and on the field.

Regardless of some of this toungue in cheek character assassination of Tim Smith he was probably the most consistent performer for Wests over the last 4/5 years when he was on the paddock and he is going to leave a hole at Sylvan Road in terms of experience if nothing else. His game management is excellent.

He was an NRC player in 2015 and we haven't had too many of them.

Agree highly bulldog, I think that's just the way he plays and not once have I never seen him give anything other than 100% on the field.
He was the top point scorer for the club two years running aswell as the premiere competition.
I do t think anyone at the club got close to 172 points last year.
Goodluck to him

Thought 1: I saw the exact same article yesterday with someone else's byline.
Thought 2: if a player plays in the 'rebel' comp will they still be eligible for a super rugby contract? Or even the wallabies?
Thought 3: why would a young up and coming player risk his playing future on the whim of a few old men?
Thought 4: if they can't fund what they have how will they fund this?
Thought 5: if they can find this why are the screaming poor?
Thought 6: do they really think they can win a tug of war with the ARU over players?

Could it not just be used as another competition to run at the same time for those players who didn't get picked in NRC and play for those top 4 clubs? Why does it have to be a rebel comp? Competition is healthy. 4 years ago NRC wasn't a thing, now we are talking about another possible option to develope the game. Can't we all just get along?

GPS or Filth Guys, anyone got any mail on Anthony Mathison leaving brothers to coach at GPS?

Also heard this. Apparently Matho has come on board as forwards coach, but also is plan B for Head Coach if Arnold gets the Reds gig. Again, it's just more heresay until QRU announce their plans. Bit of a clusterf*** but Matho isn't a bad Plan B if true.

UQ had 17 current players selected in NRC sides. It doesn't leave us with much of a squad to compete in this "mutiny" competition.

A team like Bond, who missed out on the Top Four and had precious few selected in the NRC would more than likely beat the UQ Reserve Grade side we'd roll out. Should they deserve UQ's position in the rebel comp?

The Sydney-centric view of Papworth and co screams of a cash-grab. How would funnelling dollars into the Shute Shield coffers help develop Rugby anywhere outside of their constituency anyway?

So tucker gone as well, Matho in, what does that mean for Brothers coaching wise. Sounds like 2 clubs all over the place because of one coaching change. Not ideal this time of the year. Good luck to both.

As painful as it is to say, The filth are by no means all over the place. I'm not sure of their names but I think Brothers have the same coaches that got them the premiership this year. Matho had more of an assistant role with Brothers after he came back from his stint coaching Young Munster in Ireland.

The Premier Grade coaching unit is roughly the same as 2016 minus Matho.
Head coach: Carl Marshall
Forwards coach: Ben McCormack
Backs coach: Brendan Gabbett

I heard through the grapevine that souths were after Phoenix Hunapo-Nofoa (Samoa 7's) but Norths have apparently already signed him. I'm hearing figures of $1200 a game. Surely that isn't sustainable. The guy can play

Where does this money come from? Are all norths players on this sort of amounts?
