Oz Schools v NZ Schools Test & Tour

Great game. Was nervous for a bit at the end there. Australia's Best 4 ranked in order 1) Robinson: Great try and try assist. Very talented. Signed with brumbies or anything ? 2) Placid: Great speed with the ball, timing is great. A class player. Surly the leaguies will try snap him up. 3)...

Could be fate, but I doubt it Hugh. As a GPS enthusiast for the past 9 years I always find that shore have the forwards, but are always outmatched in the backs. My honest opinion is that this year was no different.

I saw/heard enough mate. I do not doubt their effort and commitment for a second they are just not at the same level as some of the other teams. I understand your annoyance as Shore win a premiership every blue moon.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2012

You make a fair point. However there were various games this year where the losing team 'easily could have won'. Riverview who are the supposed 'dud' team of 2012 could have easily won there games against Scots and Shore. Both ending in being held up over the line numerously. My original point...

Shore are an average team, but from what I have seen it is the effort and commitment that they play with consistently that keeps them in the competition. Shore to struggle against Joeys. I think the Shore supporters got a bit carried away with an easy start to the season. Never saw Shore as a...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2012

Round 5 Kings vs Riverview was an average contest. In previous years it has been a real contest. I think the intensity was low along with the quality. Some of the indavidual skill was good. With some talent displayed. Kings clearly the better side, no doubt. However a level below Newington and...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2012

I advice the people who are off to watch the Joeys 1sts play, to make an afternoon of it and start at the 3rds and make a comparison with the 2nd XV. I have only seen them twice this season, but it was the same thing twice. The 3rd XV looking more structured and cohesive than the 2nds. I am not...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2012

A fine point. As someone who takes great interest in Joeys Rugby, as they are renowned for there rugby, I did notice the extreme quality of the their 3rd XV. Scoring trys that you would normally only see in a high qualty 2nd XV game or a 1st XV game. The skills possessed by these supposed '3rd...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2012

From my contact at Riverview I have gathered the following Injury Update - Rorke is unlikely to get back on the field for Riverview let alone for Australia after suffering an ankle injury. - Redden was quote 'carried off the field' after the shore match but should be okay from Kings. - Freeman...

I do not think the shore back-line is at the level of their 3 remanning teams teams (scots newington joeys). The general consensus is that Riverview have lacked any flair all year in the backs, however Shore allowed them cause damage all game yesterday. It was their everr reliable scramble...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2012

I would say so Inside Shoulder. A disappointing season for the Riverview boys, and to be honest they are not too far off the mark. An error resulting to a try on halve time resulted in a loss against scots. Another error against Shore yesterday saw a gift 7 points. So it seems they are close...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2012

View vs Shore No doubt a very entertaining game, playing on a very poor field. Hard and dusty as it seems. But too the game. Most of the above reports are accurate, shore playing with passion and enthusiasm, managing to hold out Riverview on their on line for a number of phases. Riverview still...

Predictions for round 4: Scots vs Newington The main event. The two teams that have proven themselves as the best. I think Scots will have the upper hand in the backs, however Newingtons power in the forwards will prove to be too much. Providing that the one on one tackles are made on Kellaway I...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

Interesting you bring this up. This i can imagine will open a pandoras box so to speak. On the topic of importing, and players beginning at the prep ends of these schools and making it all the way to the end at the top level has now become a feat. Not to single out newington, as most of the...

Very strongly concur. Jack Johnson was a solid, ball playing number 7. I do not know what the queensland 7 is like, but for a forward Johnson had very good skill.
