    NSW AAGPS 2018

That Newington team doesnt look like last years 15As, must be a few players now in the opens. If I remember correctly last years Scots 15As lost their last game to Shore.

    NSW AAGPS 2018

Last years Shore 15As had a horrible start to their season. A number of their larger backs had been injured in summer sports or were unavailabile due to other sport commitments. Given that Shore rugby training doesn’t start until after the rowing season ends they started the season under...

The best XV of players from any school

Grandson, Harry could well be on this list soon.

    The Ideal NSW Schools Comp

I don't know what you are trying to achieve here. I can't see it improving the quality or participation levels of rugby. The schools in general, and GPS in particular, play rugby because it instils the importance of performing as member of a team, it requires discipline and courage. Sport at...

Apparently they are, though I struggle to find anyone that cares. If you take away the flares and the crowd violence from a soccer game, all you have left is a soccer game.

    NSW AAGPS 2017

AFL was played at Northbridge, at the end of the season, after shore had finished all their home rugby games. Whilst, Shore's struggle with rugby have been documented on this thread it pales in comparison to their inability to be competitive in AFL. It makes their rugby programme look good.

Azzuri, it seems like the ARU might make some progress with VIVA7s. It seems pretty popular and is getting more families involved in rugby. It's very mum and girl friendly and may help keep mums on side when their sons want to continue playing rugby.

I agree, they are all quality players. I think Shore would have done better had they had Rixon for more of the season. He revealed how devastating he can be in the NSW 1 v NSW 2 game just before he was injured again.

    NSW AAGPS 2017

I don't really see how changing the competition is within Shore's interests, particularly if they insist on their stance on recruiting and scholarships. They will be playing against schools that are not bound by the same rules. In the future they can't count on beating Trinity and Barker...

    NSW Primary School Rugby teams

It seems that many of the kids chosen in the PSSA team are primarily league players. That is partially a function of the manner in which the team is chosen and limited amount of rugby played in public schools.

    NSW Primary School Rugby teams

Last year's Scots u13a team had a few players from the 2014 NSW PSSA team. Hardly surprising that they smashed the PSSA team. Do the PSSA have any other trial games?

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

If you are referring to the one I think you are, his dad is an old boy and a committed member of the school community. The school is selective so not everyone who wants to gets in, maybe an extra place came up.

    NSW Primary School Rugby teams

Many of the kids from those schools end up at the elite Catholic schools in high school, anyway. The fact that their parents are paying fees at these catholic schools indicates that they value education and would probably happily take an opportunity to get their kid into a better school, if...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

These figures will no doubt increase over coming years as more players from the PSSA team themselves are offered places at GPS schools. However, I am not too sure that the PSSA selectors always get it right. There must be many more players in the GPS who played in the PSSA tournament in the...

    NSW AAGPS 2017

While other schools recruit large and fast skilled rugby boys, some Shore coaches discourage kids from playing club rugby. It seems fairly obvious to me that the kids who are playing rugby 2 to 3 times as often as other kids will tend to get better over time. Up until now, I thought that GPS...
