I'm also curious to know how you are going finding supplies (the raw ingredients, hops, malt, barley etc) and if they're ridiculously expensive?

I'd be keen but our local home brew is run by a lady whose beard is nearly as lustrous as mine. I'm a bit frightened to go in ;(

Join a club - buy in bulk - Malted grain is cheap in large batches.
Water is cheap
Hops can be cheap but I like to purchase lots of different types.
Yeast is cheap if you harvest it.

Also it should be said that while this was brewing (10 minutes of setup) I fed bathed and put the kids to sleep - geot their lunches ready for tomorrow and tidied the house.
It's much more time efficient that the old ways
