Obviously the Yanks love it, but it is far too stop-start for my liking.
Can never understand how you can score a touchdown without grounding the ball.
As a Hawke's Bay boy I'm ecstatic.
In the 60s, as a young journo I saw the Magpies hold the Ranfurly Shield for three years, so to see them take the log of wood from Otago means a lot.
A young side, they may not keep the trophy long, but right now who cares?
I enjoy League, but much prefer rugby. League is too predictable, provided you don't make a mistake you can rely on keeping the ball for six tackles. I can't think of any other contact sport where there is no continuous contest for the ball.
But there are some rules I think rugby could steal...
I can never understand why conservatives claim the ABC has a left bias. Ask them for a concrete example and they can't produce one, but remain convinced, anyway.
I agree that this government deserves the humpty, but fear the only alternative will be even worse.
Abbott is an attack dog, not a leader. Kiwis only need to think of Trevor Mallard-who would want him leading NZ?
Hi red, good to see you again.
As a Kiwi, I see the Boks as the No 1 enemy, a historical thing, I guess. Am old enough to remember '56 when the whole country went rugby mad.
It still feels great to beat the Springboks.
This All Black side would be the best I've seen in more than 50 years of following rugby. The Wallabies were far from disgraced.
But somehow they have to find a way of manufacturing tries against a defence that looks almost impregnable. One fluke intercept isn't nearly enough.
Looking forward...
