I believe the correct response should have been we agree to disagree. However, check your facts, Simmonsson two MOM from three games... After round 1. Not sure how much game time he played in the last round before injured. So yes perhaps comparable with Osbourne who personally I think should be...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

The agendas on this site are certainly interesting. I actually enjoy the site in main and @OAUI you are certainly entitled to your opinion. In this regard so are other professional rugbybcodes coaches including the shorter version of the game when it comes to the number 15. I know which opinion...

Maddocks is a class act. Will not be surprised to see him at the Reds shortly!

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

Interestingly the 20s rugby program is looking at something akin to the Super 15 competition, while the 'Car' competition is phasing theirs out. (2016 likely to be the last year linked to the NRL teams). Although the other comp has been able to attract under 20 players with contracts and...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

In NSW, some regions battled for numbers to field 15 through the tournament, yet alone 'potentially talented' players. The assessment was the talent was spread to thin. I am assuming this is the same rational in Queensland for those teams affected, but I don't know for a fact. As HJ often...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

Although publicly, I for one have defended the efforts of the players, the confusing selections, ineffective strategy and poor game management on the part of the Aussie coaches, has not been lost on experienced officials outside the 'schools' hierchy. Your son will still prosper through the...

Really mate? It took that game to convince you there is a chasm! The point I suspect you are missing that I tried to make is that this is one years worth of players that will eventually move into senior rugby where the age of players are anywhere from 18 to 35. I'm not sure what you are...

It would have been nice if the commentator had of actually undertaken a little home work. It became extremely frustrating at the amount of mistakes he made and the extent he went too in trying to describe how good the players were instead of just commenting on the game. He really did become...

I have it on good authority that Simonsson may have been homesick earlier in the year when suffering from Glandular Fever, but he is happily contracted to the Bulldogs and is enjoying his time with Newington college. He is not going anywhere next year!

Pretty sure Simonsson didn't play in first few rounds including that one! The others played.

A few Newington backs battling injuries. One out for potentially 2 to 3 weeks (the season).

Agreed! On very good authority, a sevens contract was to be offered which I would have thought would have been comparable to what Manly would offer. Perhaps it hadn't been formally tabled. Ultimately, you can give young men advice but you have to let these boys play what they want to play.

Losing a quality player like Tom Wright, for the few years anyway, just highlights rugby unions inability to compete with league at the junior level when it comes to financial incentives.

There has been a precedence set in the past where boys were picked who did not play at nationals and the of GPS boys referred to is irrelevant. Luke Lough, for instance is not GPS. If selectors or coaches cannot assess players outside of the nationals they should not be involved. I stand by my...

    Waratah Shield/Cup 2015

Club and schools play in a combined competition. I'm told joining another association has been previously discussed many times but nothing has eventuated. IMO it (the ACT comp) rivals the ISA competition (in terms of standard) with St Edmunds capable of footing it with the stronger sides...

    Waratah Shield/Cup 2015

Difficult year for Marist college rugby with 60 odd players down from normal and struggling to field 3 senior sides. AFL and League take it's toll on a school that does not make it compulsory to play sport if league is chosen. Certainly a year to rebuild with good junior sides coming through.
