Its amazing how myopic Reds fans can be - Cooper was more concerned with getting rid of the ball rather than attacking the line. He has been doing this constantly this season. Yes he throws the occasional specky pass but really, can anyone stick their hand up and say, as of now, that Cooper is a...
Beer and Pie on the sideline and wander on when required - there is life after playing.. I hope that the IRB are listening... just no stretchy shirts and tight shorts - would not want to get the crowd all a lather
I agree with one person looking but is that not what the assistant ref staring at a scrum is there for? to look and adjudicate on the side the ref is not? Its not rocket science but then again... how many refs at any senior level have ever been in a pack, let alone the front row.
Push...
I am amazed at how people such as the IRB complicate such a simple matter. If a ref cannot manage a few things at scrum time, then why is he there?
The engage needs to be straight - how many times do you see boring in (Ben Robbinson is the master). If the ref sees an arse sticking out...
Based on this years results the pools for next year should be:
A) England, Argentina, Australia and Italy
B) Wales, France, Ireland and Fiji
c) SA, NZ, Samoa and Scotland
As we don't play NZ in the pool rounds the idea of setting up a few pre tournament games seen solid. Looking at the pool...
Agreed - respect is the key. Either treat this as a world class competition and put true resources behind it or........ live with mediocrity which does no one, including the players any good at all.
Agreed 100% - with some game time as a team prior to the tournament the 4 point losses to Ireland and NZ in the pool rounds could have had the team in a vastly better position - congrats to the side for finishing it off in style though.
With the emergence of the 3rd tier comp, it will be interesting to see how many of these players and the ones being touted as being dudded actually get a gig at this level - all of the current team, in theory, should be playing, if they are at the level to represent their country.
Hang on - you cant blame the coaching staff... yet. They were only appointed a week or so prior to the 1st camp. They have had no time to prepare a build up plan or pre season matches at such short notice. I hope that they and the ARU can get it right next time...
Okay - Horwell is a beast - given and a good leader. Hooper I am still unsure of at this level. Genia is great, given time and a pack going formward. Scrag him all day and have the pack going backwards and he starts to whine like a bore (see QLD re Force). JOC (James O'Connor) will have little effect at 10...
Agreed re Warbuton but Croft had a blinder against the Tahs. Good call re Alex Corbisiero, a much better technical scrummager than Vunipolo though the latter off the bench will hurt. No Zebo is interesting but I think that this squad will get the job done on Saturday
looking at the highlights, the pack was great and the backline could not tackle its way out of a bag full of candy floss... a game where they gave the Argentinians three trys. You cant win a game where guys run through five tackles.
Interesting comments - I have put this in perspective Vs last year where apparently there was no feedback during the trials and mind blowingly, after any of the games. Just a team list stuck up and that's that.
You cant get everyone to agree on the selection process and to some degree it is...
its interesting to read this thread re players missing out and those that are there being "golden boys" of the failed ARU academies. One thing i cannot figure out is that if there are lads out in rugby land that deserved to be in this team, why are they still playing colts? I would hope that if...
If Kerevi is out and CFS is not released that means that there is no recognised 13 in the squad with one week prior to them leaving. Who was silly enough not to check the Fiji lads eligibility leaving it until now to stop the lad going.
Any ideas on other 13s who would be eligable. Tell them...
