Turnovers were certainly an issue, the Crusaders were winning them like it was a kids lolly throw and doing it without over-committing to the breakdown. The Reds backline, including Gill, will cop a particular amount of heat given their role is to cover for Genia and he got squashed.

I rate the Reds backrow, Quirk in particular is under rated in my view, but they have back pedaled over the year from their strong start. Hopefully they grow from the pulping they just took.

Reds are going to miss Samo off the bench next year.

They are also going to have to do some serious digging for a good fullback, not convinced anyone on the current roster is S15 standard. Really would love someone who specialises in defensive clearances and can spark a counter attack with pace. Can guarantee a lot of teams took notes on last nights game and will know how to crush us if we send out the same back line next year. Centre pairing was not up to scratch and wingers ineffective.

Cummins, JOC (James O'Connor) or Mogg. Buy one now!

Is the Honey Badger up for grabs for 2014?

He would be an excellent acquisition for the Reds.

Would he still be available for a guest appearance for the Hobbits in the Shute Shield or do the Reds players have to be aligned with Prem Clubs?

Yep, but in the context of the game that was a solid performance in the face of adversity and exactly what he needed to show imo.

Its amazing how myopic Reds fans can be - Cooper was more concerned with getting rid of the ball rather than attacking the line. He has been doing this constantly this season. Yes he throws the occasional specky pass but really, can anyone stick their hand up and say, as of now, that Cooper is a world class No10? Currently we are bereft of an attacking 10 and until Cooper find his minerals and is willing to run at the line, hold defenders and put the outside backs into holes, the Qld and Wallaby's attack will be stilted, relying on occasions of individual brilliance as opposed to tactical nous and well executed plays. IMHO

You're talking about a guy that was widely criticised for attacking too much in 2011. Trying to do much himself. Most critics agreeing that if he just reigned it in a tad he would be the better player for it.

It appears that he has done that and now he is being criticised for not attacking enough. I know which view is more myopic.

Lastly, the view that you quoted was that of a Rebels fan, not a Reds fan.

Butler is listed as EPS on the Reds site, the others aren't even on there..
They are both in the Reds College, I think O'Donoghue was brought in as injury cover for McDuling, also I believe Browning was brought in on a short term contract for Beau Robinson earlier in the year..

Scoey bloody oath mate. Is he supposed to be a conservative, low risk 10 or an attacking maverick flyhalf? I know which one I'd rather. I hope Link reinstills some of that attacking flair.

light Sounds like a prem grade 10 playing for Wests by the name of S. Greene. Needs a bit more time to mature but he is a player of the Quade Cooper mould with the boot of Dan Carter. Future prospect there.

But I agree that we need to do some sort of recruiting. Why havent we got anyone? And yet every second news story is about how the Tahs are signing some new marquee player? I get the whole develop from within but we really need to have some experience in the side to keep a culture going and work off the talents of Genia and Cooper.

JO'C Brand is looking for a gig for next year.

Would Richard Graham and the Ballymore team be able to keep him focused on team outcomes?

It is good that the Honey Badger is in talks with the Reds.

He would thrive in the environment in BrisVegas and be an excellent replacement for Diggers. Good team fellow and good for morale. Could be the shot in the arm that both the Reds and the Honey Badger need.

Looks like JOC (James O'Connor) will be signed by the force come weeks end.

On the badger the only way he will be in aus next year is if the ARU comes to the party which they havent yet maybe if he hints at a move to the reds they might.

He wants to stay i Perth but has priced himself really high.

That is a big statement. I'm not sure what you mean by Quade Cooper mould but I highly doubt it is applicable to young Sam. Unless by that you were comparing him to schoolboy Quade in '05/06?
I don't know where that argument would go.

Fair point on the kicking though. Still think Greene is a year or two off being S15 level at either fly-half or fullback, can't help but think maybe the boot would get the yips during a full Suncorp Stadium with a game on the line.

I'd be looking at Jonah Placid or someone with a bit more size and less responsibility who can inject speed off the bench whilst being an important squad member. Greene has enormous potential and I have no doubt he will play for the Reds one day but maybe those light dark blue glasses are obscuring reality for now. EPS for sure.

light I said in the Quade Cooper 'mould' in respect to his passing ability, counter attacking and attacking kicking game. Also said big future prospect. Not saying he his the immediate answer, more that there needs to be some development rather than thrusting him into the top tier like so many of our young stars have experienced.

Don't worry, light dark blue glasses are there but not always obscuring reality. Just read the post mate!

In the mean time, like I said, we seriously need to do some recruiting and it worries me that we have big names leaving and seemingly no experience to replace them? Did all our money go to Gilly to secure him after the ARU wouldnt give him a top up?
