CAS Rugby 2024

I am not sure if the CAS rugby site is correct but surely our CAS sides playing 3 games, in 2 straight days, is just tempting injury and not going to bring out the best in the boys, especially when the last game is against GPS.

This is a copy from the website

Thursday 27 June – Games Venue Pittwater Rugby Park
10:20 CAS 2 v CCC
11:10 CAS 1 v CHS
13:50 CAS 2 v ISA 2
14:40 CAS 1 v ISA 1

Friday 28 June – Games Venue Knox Grammar School No 1
17:45 CAS 2 v GPS 2
19:00 CAS 1 v GPS 1

I think this is just crazy. Anyone else got thoughts on this?
If they are chosen for NSW schools they will need to play several matches over a couple of days at Nationals

Fergus Dominy is the future pinnacle of not only Waverley College but CAS rugby as a whole. He is currently signed by Bondi United on a 1-year contract however is soon to be picked up by Lebanon for the rugby league World Cup. His apprentice Charlie Grant is currently in the 2nd XV at Waverley and has big boots to fill with his brother Lachlan Grant being a key part of Waverley rugby last year. Miles Kelly is a 5ths player in the Waverley program showing prominent skill development although injured with a hyperextended knee, he is projected to be climbing the ranks and am keen to see more from him going into the season.
CLD's OUT

Does anyone know if barker are struggling with injuries or if they’re just rotating their team a lot? It will be interesting come round 1 what team they go with.
A lot of last years 1s boys seem to be in barker 2nds and 1 or 2 in 3rds. Again have gone with a young team.
Seem to get the impression they’re looking to build for future years again but who knows

Didnt Aloys seconds get beaten by Kinross over the weekend?
Yes they did. With a greatly depleted team. Both CAS players from last year were out with injury so the 1sts forward pack was made up fifty percent by Second XV players. Therefore, the Second XV had a depleted forward pack as well. The team is supposedly quite battered with a few lingering injuries. There were two concussions in the game, both in forward pack (Hooker and one of the Props). It is obvious that the team is harbouring a great amount of hindering factors. 29-5 is not an embarrassing scoreline, especially with such a depleted team.
