Have you seen the crowds (or not) at the Delhi Games?

The Netball had 58 spectators.

The Hockey seems to have about 10 spectators.

I'd be spewing if I paid top dollar for a prime seat to turn up to an empty stadium.

Hope the TV rights are covering the cost of the Games, cause the spectators seem to be frightened off.

Top dollar $AUD25 doesn't seem all that much when we are used to paying 10 times that for a prime seat at a footy game.

Guess I am stuck in the Sydney sporting paradigm.

Even so, $2.50 AUD is probably a hell of a lot for many of the locals.

They've got maybe a thousand to the cricket in Mohali, good to see such passionate support

It is a lot if you don't give a crap.
A mate of mine in Mumbai say local interest = 0
He tells me if it's not cricket then it's nothing.
Building a stadium that holds 60,000 in a city that size gives an indication of the apathy to all things not cricket.

I heard that the tickets ranged from 100 AUD to 1000 AUD. It was in the paper the other day I think?

Was it a case of classic courier mail sensationalism?

you guys really need to find a name for the courier mail that degrades it as a piece of trash as our daily terror for the tele does.

Opening/closing tickets were big bucks >$1k, the actual sports not dear at all.
just shows by the pricing that the locals have no interest in the actual sports, but will shell out for an event

I hope that Foxtel has a channel dedicated to the sevens this weekend. 10 and One will only show Australian games.
