Interesting tactic by NZ at the tackle. Aus commit 5 players to the tackle contest. NZ only commit the ball carrier. No maul is formed, and when the ball becomes unplayable, it is NZ feed to the scrum, because it is not a held up maul.

Aus have not been out of their half. 1 minute to go before oranges.

Aus have not really seen the Gilbert in the first half.

@Wamberal has identified that we need some big guys, and some fast guys.

Tich has sorted out that problem by selecting big fast guys. We need to do the same.

Oranges consumed. Game restarts. Jenkins has 10 seconds left in the bin.

NZL gets more meat through Stowers. NZL 21 - 0.

14 points win the 2 minutes Jenkins was in the naughty boys chair.
5 minutes to go. Surprise Aus has the ball for about 30 seconds before coughing it up and losing 40 metres.

Some broken play and finally - Clarkies boy gets meat after 70 metre run.

NZL 21 - Aus 7 with 3:30 to go.

Tom Lucas gets some meat after we lose a lineout on our own throw.

Aus 12 - NZL 21 as Clarkies boy misses the conversion. The loss of Jenkins was the game changer.

NZL in cruise control with 12 seconds left, but they go bloody close to getting some more meat after DJ "Quade" Forbes tries a cheeky cross field grubber that just beats the black wing into touch in goal with no gold player in the picture.

AUS qualify for the Bridesmaids competition again.

Two tries in two minutes from the Fijian wizards.

Wonderful to watch them going toe to toe with Kenya.

Then Collins Injura gets meat for Kenya to make it two tries apiece at oranges - 12-12.

24 - 19 now to Fiji.

I'm beginning to wonder what the long term impact of Rugby 7's at the Olympics will really be.

More meat comes Fiji way. Now 31-19 to the Wizards with 1 minute to go.

Kenya are not giving up and earn a penalty hot on attack in the Fijian 22, and then Fiji turnover 70 metre sprint, more meat to Fiji. Now 38 -19.

For the steak knives, Fiji gets more meat after the Full Time siren. Fiji 43 - 19.

Fiji to face NZL in the Semi. Should be a belter of a game, and I'm tipping Fiji to win.

Aus to play Kenya in the SF of the Plate competition at 13:24 Tokyo time.

Pretty sure that means that the next Aus game will be 3:24 pm (AEDT), 2:24 (Banjoland Time).

AUS to play USA in the Final of the Plate @ 15:44 Tokyo time, 5:44pm Australian Civilised Time, 4:44 pm in the land of the Banjo Pluckers.

As predicted Fiji beat NZ to advance to the Final. (One of the few footy tips I've got right this weekend!)
