10th minute, Barrett makes an up-and-under and the Japanese 8 drops it, Charles Piutau gets his first international try.

Japan kicks deep, pressures well, gets the ball back and then gets the penalty from NZ offside.

Japanese forwards seem a little slow to the breakdown.

Broadhurst, the Japanese 7, ripped the ball from Dominic Bird in the lineout and Japan won a penalty from the play.

NZ looking vulnerable here. Not the well oiled machine we usually see yet. I expect it will come though.

Weird to see GOAT in #8.

Eddie Jones has recently been saying how the biggest thing for the Japanese was to be better at being physical. They have been very good in all contact.

Japan won a penalty at the breakdown, converted. Score now 6 - 7.

Japan winning the breakdowns and making the good metres. Not joking myself into thinking they'll win but they're not being put the the sword just yet.

Both tries have come from Japanese mistakes. Eddie Jones nails that out of them and they would be up by 6.

NZ combinations clearly not as solid as usual, but they are starting to play Barbarian rugby.

Piatau being a real handful on the wing. Beating his man every time.
