QLD GPS 2024

gpsrugbynews

Frank Row (1)
Xavier Coorey injured during 2023 however he is back from injury for 2024. A boy from out west at Goondiwindi who loves mustering cattle and plaing footy, the young hooker will take the 2024 season head on

Wallahi

Frank Row (1)
Terrace Prodigy Joseph Walsh who played for the 2nd XV this year, is only in grade 11 but is rumoured to have put on 20kg so far. A country boy at heart he will be strapping on the boots at Outside centre next year for the First XV. Size, speed and power and is said to be the next Frankie Goldsborough. Apparently there's a new New Zealand product who was injured this year for Terrace on the wing Kiyan Gunewardene. Is said to be the Terrace Schoolboy legend for 2024. Should be a great year of footy.:)

Based on those names returning back for 2024, Nudgee will be the team to beat again! However, has there ever been a time when Nudgee weren't favourites? It's all part and parcel of QLD GPS Rugby with everyone trying to knock off the big dogs!

Based on the returning players from other schools (including the Qld U15 and U16 reps from this year) you'd have to think TSS, Churchie, BBC, State High and Terrace would offer some stiff opposition to stopping Nudgee from going for a 3-Peat.

Word from the hierarchy at NC, Big decisions to be made who plays 10, the boom 16 year old who they can get 3 years out of, or do they play Jacob Johnson ?

Nah, Chuck O’Connell deserves first digs at 10 for NC this year after serving his ‘apprenticeship’ last year. Unless Chuck is injured, Nudgee have ample talent and options to cover at 10 as mentioned.

Utility again this year
He was the best 10 in the comp last year. Without him NC don’t beat Churchie and get their 44th. The backline should look like this
9. Watson
10. Chuck
11. Tiso
12. Layne-Setu
13. Conway
14. ‍♂️ Welfare/Grimshaw
15. Johnson if fit. Rumour has it his knee is cactus and that is why he isn’t playing 1st XI football.
