As a BBC supporter - after watching the after match speeches yesterday - I must say for say for the 2 Nd year in a row how impressed I was by the humility and graciousness of the Nudgee coaches / players and supporters. You are a credit to your school .
Anyone know the name of the perpetual trophy exchanged between the captains yesterday ?
Great moment - what rugby is all about !

A deserved premiership for Brisbane Boys College. The coaching staff commend for the picking up of the college after the massive devastation of last year. Probably some undeserved criticism of their coaching on this forum from ex-BBC parent and cheer leader from afar. One very close loss in 2 years is the best in GPS.

What a magnifique win against might and experience of Nudgee. Even at 0-12 you could see a calm that the XV last year did not possess and perhaps a far more united team in the heated moment of the virtual grand final.

With the pressure of expectation, not always easy for schoolboy but their champion player stepped up when it matter.

Nudgee in defeat were also very NC like fighting to the end. They should be proud.

Is it true BBC only won 1 game on the day?,that being the first XV?

It wouldn't surprise me, Nudgee has incredible depth to their program. Similar sort of thing happened last season against Terrace in the opens. Terrace won in the 4ths, 3rds and 2nds, but BBC won fairly strongly in the 1sts.

So after BBC and NUDGEE put on such a Stella display of schoolboy rugby, our focus turns to next week.

If you were giving advice to the COACH of BSHS, how would you approach a strategy for defeating BBC ( I know...good luck) but has BBC got any weakness.

By the same token, if you were the CHURCHIE coach preparing his team to take on the NUDGEE might, how would you strategise a win.

From yesterday’s game, did either team show areas where they are still vulnerable?

Interested in views from those who rate themselves as coaching strategists.

Thoughts?

What a disappointment it will be for long suffering BBC fans if State High don’t allow the game on Friday to be live streamed. Maybe a special case could be made as it sounds a real shame that the final game and the handing out of the premiership trophy won’t be shown!

The annual tropy between Nudgee & BBC presented yesterday is the "Halle Appleby" trophy. Mrs Appleby presented it to Mason Gordon-both captains spoke beautifully.
Should be a big rivalry again next year.
BUT -when that NC 15 A team hits open -heaven help the rest of comp.More depth than the Atlantic ocean.

Not bad at all. You must be a BBC supporter!
Zac Hough BBC 7 has to be there -most run metres in comp for 2nd year in a row. And VDS goes to 5.
Surely IGS 8 has to be in there ?

And NC 13 is better than BBC 14 IMO.

Yep, I think we all know deep down in our hearts how this plays out.

The Nudgee rugby machine is too strategic, too tactical, and everyone made the mistake of suggesting that they are the weakest Nudgee team for years. They have been here before, Nudgee know how to win these games. TGS showed them where the cracks are, Nudgee will blow them wide open.

Good Job BBC, well deserved. Congratulations to all that are connected.

Probably too early for this question.

Lots of blokes will be back next year for their 2nd season of 1st XV

Which players will be in their third year in 2021?

I know IGS have their number 8 and BBC have the 7 and 15 back for a third year.

I think BSHS have to get really pumped and go all out in the first 20 minutes. Watch last years shellacking for motivation and really build up some aggression and passion and hope to shock BBC early with a couple of tries. Eat up that win against all odds mentality all week long. A lot of niggling and a few dust ups wouldn’t surprise me early on. They gotta do something to mess with BBCs heads.

ACGS v NC, I think ACGS have to attack the hell out the breakdown, kick for the sideline and work on their rolling mauls from the lineout.

I hope they work something out and stream the BSHS v BBC match. That’s a bit mean spirited if the don’t, IMO.

Does anyone know why State high won't show the rugby? You would think during the coronavirus and also due to the status of the match they would not be so mean spirited and inflexible.

I think BBC should win this match very comfortably but State High are not a push over and State High have a habit of causing problems for Premiership teams. State High's 8 supporters will blow their horns and whistles very loudly if they cause an upset on Friday, but I doubt this will happen (nor will that many State High supporters turn up to support their team).

The Nudgee and Churchie match should be a good one also. Am I right in saying Churchie still have a theoretical possibility at the Premiership if they beat Nudgee on Friday? That should spice it up if this is the case and I think Churchie are quite solid, and Nudgee will have to get themselves back up after last Sat (and so will I.....).

I was thinking, the company who filmed "The Season" Series on BBC should knock another episode up to include this BBC season or do a similar one off episode to the Nudgee TSS "grandfinal" film produced from 2018.

Maybe too early, but I think 2021 will be a season to look forward to, and I can't wait already for the Nudgee BBC match on Ross.

BBC v Nudgee round one next year will be huge. I believe BBC have 2, 4, 6, 7, the injured 8, 11, 12 and 15 back from this team. Nudgee very good in 15A and 16A so could be a key game in round one next year.

If BBC can get through BSHS this week I agree that Onion sports should make an extra episode to the BBC season or at least add a few minutes at the end to finish the story!

Churchie need BSHS to beat BBC , and then roll NUDGEE to share a premiership with TSS and BBC , so whilst it’s possible, I think you would agree it’s a long shot...... but you never know. Keeps things interesting.

If BBC beat state high , and Churchie pull an upset over NUDGEE, BBC win outright, with Churchie and TSS taking 2nd and 4th school would be NUDGEE.
