Queensland Reds 2024

Misunderstood fan

I understand the concept of developing players from within QLD, but we are running low in the front row with a limited menu to pick from. Being open minded to bringing in and developing players should be a consideration or we are screwed.

Or a sign of scattered thinking and high turnover
Sounds like that was a key component that rubbed off from his mentor Robbie, the ability to fallout with numerous senior players!

Senior players such as Lote Tuqiri, Phil Waugh, Al Baxter, George Smith, Matt Giteau, were deemed troublemakers and surplus to requirements.

Thorn and Robbie certainly have one thing in common in their scorched-earth management approach, they cycled through countless players with their scattered thinking leaving valuable senior players off-side and disgruntled (Rodda, Cooper, Slipper, etc..)

To be fair the current crop of Reds fronrowers regularly get shown up in Hospital Cup. Perhaps prioritising their primary job (scrumming) in addition to work rate in the non glorious dirty shouldve been a consideration when selecting the Tupou supporting act for the Reds

Keep shitposting Robbie. Happy for Reds not to land him. Will take him as a Director of Rugby in Sydney.

It would be massively disrespectful to Ewen McKenzie's legacy to bring in Robbie Deans considering the checkered history between respective parties, and the distain he showed towards Queensland's greatest ever 10. Quade and Ewen built the Reds into the champion team they became in 2011. Robbie, as with his apprentice (coach Goon), have equally vested interests, they certainly do not have the club's best interests at heart.

Quade contributed everything to Reds, he does not deserve to have his legacy in Queensland further effected by scorched-earth Robbie's dark past.
Is this a comedy account?

Reds need to have a full review and clean out some of the under performing players.
Agree, Our recruitment is poor but retention is worse.
No test standard in our tight five, Rodda, Hockings, Swain, Mafi, BPA, Lukhan, Thor, Faeo all allowed to go.
a) can we target any of these to bring back.
b) we cannot keep them all but how can retention be so poor.

Any word on Zac Lucas? Left with Hockings and Rodda just as he looked like he was the long term solution to the playmaker role.

So the rebels just extended contracts of Kevin Foote and Tim Sampson until 2025.

The rebels could potentially provide the blue print for promoting Mick Heenan, very similar circumstances to Kevin Foote (replacing the coach who stood down) we would just need to find Heenan his Tim Sampson (quality assistant coach to help out) overseen by their general manager (Nick Stiles)

if the Reds are hellbent on retaining Sam Cordingly then it’s probably likely no high named coach will come to reds because of the bickering between the QRU & New start.

Made the league's team of the year last season and is being sought after by some of the bigger clubs over there. Next to no chance he comes back anytime soon as his next contract will go close to 7 figures a season

So it's time for some changes, I agree. But there is no way we should be thinking of re-establishing contact with New Start as some sort of new beginning.

I'm hoping we are not going to throw Heenan in with the wolves. We've been through many years of the local Brisbane boy. To little effect on the w/l sheet. It's well time to think more broadly. Not sure how I'd feel about Dingo Deans either, but likely better than a promotion with little time from QPR.

What are u talking about? For the right price, Deans would be massive for Reds and any Super Rugby side
