From the stands the Reds' backline looked flatfooted and absolutely directionless - really missed the go-forward and decisiveness JOC (James O'Connor) and Paisami often provide.

I can't understand why Tate was pulled off with 15-20 to go when the game was in the balance. Jeans was solid, but if the game's winnable, surely you give a full 80 to (arguably) the form halfback of the comp, who consistently bends the line and often is the one to provide the attacking spark and direction.

Not sure if it came through on the coverage, but the crowd were absolutely filthy with the kicking away of possession in the last 10min.

On a side note, the LED posts looked at lot better at the ground than on the telly, and did add a bit of theatrics when points were scored (over and above the bunch of eyebrow-singers they've already got)

Agree on the goal posts.

“Might be the end of his night” — Tim Horan as the stretcher comes on.

One of the worst pieces of commentary you’ll hear.
I think his comment about needing to score 3 to 4 tries to beat a NZ team and then saying maybe McDermott should think about this during the game (paraphrasing) was pretty poor commentary, imagine implying that a captain and halfback would not be trying to find ways to score tries!!

The missing players can’t be used as an excuse. Too many silly mistakes, too many poor errors and not enough effort off the ball.
Maybe the missing players would not make the silly mistakes, this is why they are missed.

Watched the game live here are my thoughts

Wilson looked tight early in the game. That missed tackle on TUJ was average but he didn't look comfortable.

Uru played really well. Carried on back to back occassions on a number of times. He and Samu are in a good battle for the wallabies squad and backrow position on the bench.

Clearly we have been practicing the crossfield for Vunivalu. Maybe our play makers need some help with their left and right as they tried three times and none were to Vunivalu.
