120 million does sound a bit high. The big markets are UK which would get around 10m watching and France which would get the same I would imagine. Going from 20m to 120 is a big jump.

The young blokes report that there would have been >2000* people inside the Sports Bar at the Star Casino with a queue around the corner to get in.

Similar reports of chocker venues from a couple of other places in Sydney.

How do they reconcile those sort of figures into the ratings?

* Estimate based on beer goggles report from Junior Jarse at 6:00am. Number may be rubbery but the venue was absolutely chocker.

Isn't the Star Casino outside the CBD pub/club zone?

^^ What are the cumulative figures for Australia?

Germany's ratings must have gone close to those of some of the Tier 1 Countries figures.

On the ratings front. Germany drew in 520,000 for the final and 9.58 million culminative across the whole tournament. Great numbers for a nation not involved.

And what should be a flashing/wailing siren for World Rugby to spend some effort/$ at places like Germany/Holland. Can't fail.

These are only approximate, as the Fox numbers don't include games that didn't rate much
1.5m FTA + 2m Fox + 0.6 Fox replay

Total 4.1m viewers

On the 4.1 my gut feeling is that is mainly hard core rusted on or at least Rugby fans... i.e not to many bandwagoners ... still trying to get my head around if this is a good bad or meh total and the same for the final ...

The new season is about to start with a new media deal.

I wonder aloud how our ratings will be this year.

I think and improvement by the Reds would add to the ratings.

After a successful world cup well the not getting through the group stages as some said was not bad.

Recent years have seen our rating slide a little and again could be the Reds.

The new AFL and NRL media deals IMO mean it will be difficult to get meaningful coverage or say positive coverage from 7 & 9. 10 is ours but I have never seen cross promotion like 7 & 9 give their sports.

Football ratings were down but recently have rebounded but down overall for their season. They will sign a new media deal sometime over the next 12 months.

Strew looking forward to the new season and your posts.

May I suggest we rebadge this thread so we can look back on similar points last year essentially make this thread the ratings thread for this season.
