The closest Shute Shield Competition in years is done and dusted.

    What is happening for 2017?

    Who is changing clubs?

    Who are the coaches?

    Who has retired?

Will the 2017 competition be as close as this year?

    Let the wang begin.

It would be good if Louden was at the Pirates next year.

A top notch coach could help to attract and retain talented players, as well as helping some "bolters" to achieve their potential.

Any news on how the Jeremy Paul experiment went at Emus this year? Will he be back again next season? The required changes need more than one years efforts to bear fruit.

Looks a bit like Concord Oval in that picture HJ.

How about some North Sydney Oval action?:)

^^^That was the best I could get off google.

I might have to edit the OP & replace the pic off google with your one.

Edit: Image in OP changed to a 2016 pic of the Shute Shield.

A shame about Jeremy Paul. Penrith need a competent coach to stick at it for a number of years, be nice if a sponsor'd step up to pay a decent one for five years or so.

I'm pretty sure that JP lives on the Central Coast.

It'd be a bit of a drag commuting from the Central Coast to Penrith several times a week in addition to his "normal" work.

Something needs to be done to make the Emu's more competitive. I'm not sure by whom or how?

What was the outcome of the ARU's big study into Rugby in Sydney's West? Haven't heard anything on the matter with the last word being the knee jerk thought bubble of amalgamating M2B and Emus, and moving the Woodies to the Hills District.

How could coaching an amateur team in a comp that goes a little over 4 months, be anything but p/t?

Interesting read in the Manly Daily that the Marlins are also talking with Jeremy Paul and Darren Coleman for next year.
No changes for the Shoreman in 2017 only to be bigger and better than 2016

Hearing Manly Oval maybe saved, thankyou to all of you who took the time to sign the petition. There were many, and no doubt the Marlins appreciate the support.

Spent quite a bit of time at Manly from 1982 to 2005 when my mother lived there, by crikey there've been some nut cases on the Manly Council. Nice to see this wacky idea hit on the head.
