What does this bid mean for Rugby Union. The new Super 14 Competition is meant to run during this cpmpetition. What would be the situation for the Super 14, and those June/July tests?
I'd hope they'd continue playing, just not at the big stadiums. For example play all of the Reds games at Ballymore for the season and any internationals there too. I'm sure there are viable options in each state, it would probably be good to have a more personal (read: squashed in) atmosphere at some of the games.
I don't think Australia has to stop because the soccer world cup is on.
They couldn't stop the competition due to sponsorship/loss of credibility. Yeah Reds would play at Suncorp or if a miracle occurs and the Reds start winning games, maybe they'll have to throw a redevelopment our way.
I'd presume ANZ Stadium would be the Broncos playing ground for those 2 months?
There are a whole bunch of conditions attached to this bid, most of which will be accommodated in the most salient reason imaginable: money. This article was repeated variously in state capitals. Just change the name of the local capital.
