So, the Brumbies Provincial Tournament is on this weekend in Bateman's Bay at Hanging Rock Oval.

From the squad that was announced last week, there doesn't appear to be a lot of depth in the second row stocks around the grounds, hence I'm tipping Dan Dowson to play in the second row this weekend but I won't be surprised if i hear that guys like Aaron MacDougall or Tanian Naude get a run in the second row either.

So - Have I got it totally wrong? What are your thoughts on the below?

1.Daley/Brown/Cunningham
2.Boyle/Dunstan
3.MacDougall/Patu
4.Meggison
5.Dowson
6.Naude
7.Bevan/Bunny
8.Latu
9.Dyer/Stanton
10.Manualevo/Stanton
11.Madden/Tracey
12.Vunilagi/Brennan/Duffy
13.Le Lievre
14.Ivill/Watkins
15.Whiteley/Tracey

Simon Vunilagi will be back row or 2nd row - he is the Leeton No. 8. Thought you might have given him some points on Saturday Sam ;)

He definitely played well, that's for sure. I thought the Leeton #10 had a handy game too, particularly in the wet.

Good pick up mate, that changes the forward pack a little. If you had Simon and Dan Dowson in the second row, that's a sizeable, mobile second row unit!

Or do you put Vunilagi in the backrow with Latu and bench a backrower? ie Latu at #7, Vunilagi at #8?

For me, I'd start with him in the second row, we'll need tall timber at the next level when Brumbies Provincial play against NSW Country next weekend.

That also changes the centre pairing, does this give Jayden Stanton a start at #12 or do you start Jayden at #10 and move Tino to #12?

I had Simon Vunilagi mixed up with the handy centre at Leeton from earlier this year...

I reckon the balance of the team just isn't right.
I believe Madden is in the team as an I/centre
No reserve half back (specialist position) yet they selected about 3 or 4 guys who can play hooker
Lets hope Dyer doesn't get injured.
Vunilagi is the best No. 8 in the Comp so that's where the selectors should pick him
Dunstan is lucky to be in the squad after playing 2nds all year for waratahs

I'd be interested to see something from the zone maybe later in the week with some details about who is playing where.

Madden/Duffy/Brenn/Le Lievre are all centres, does that mean that Tracey gets a start on the wing? 4 centres looks too many for me...

My guess is that Jayden Stanton is the reserve halfback option.

I wonder why Jock Munro didn't put his hand up?

Interested to hear your thoughts on who should have made the spots questioned.

From what I understand Siti Watkins is very adept at 9 out at Leeton this season. Has covered Stu dyer when he was injured according to the good mail.

From what I understand Brennan is being looked at as a winger also.

I don't envy the selectors in this scenario. 24 man squad for a 2 game carnival with 18 hours between games! Also need to remember can only select who is nominated!

I think they will go quite well. Big pack, fast backs

Key points in bold there @Maulalltheway!

The SIRU guys will be well competitive against Monaro, I'm keen to see what the FSC Team looks like with some ring ins from Canberra in the mix also.

For me, this weekend is a chance for all players to state their claim for the Brumbies Provincial Team and any player who is genuinely interested in rep footy should be focused on working hard to make that team and smoke NSW Country in Bathurst.

So, Bill Bevan is out. Who do you put in the mix in his place?

Also, Giles Cunningham is out too, so the squad needs two forwards.

Tommy Mout from Tumut, I believe has got the call up. Came to us as a 17 year old schoolboy that had never played rugby two seasons ago starting in third grade and has grown into a standout first grader already, this kid is going places. Well done Tommy!!!

Good to see
Brown & Mout won't let the Rep. side down at all
Pace to burn out wide with Le Lievre, Tracey, Ivill and Brennan in the squad
Lets hope the playing conditions are Dry !

Will be interesting to see how this years Brumbies Provincial Champs go this weekend - Some predictions -

South Coast to get a win over Monaro.

Southern Inland to win the comp. . . . . what a surprise haha. . . .

1st game of the Brumbies Prov Champs -

South Coast 50 Monaro 12

1st win for the South Coast Team in a number of years - really good to see - Monaro I believe really struggled for numbers this this.

It'd be good to see a team listing for all teams if anyone's got that. Looks like the ACT players have helped steady the ship!!

Yea mate I think its largely due to Bungendore players being able to be selected in the South Coast Side - Bungendore play in the South Coast/Monaro Comp but have traditionally been/and are technically a Monaro side - i.e the players in previous years from Bungendore have been selected in the Monaro rep side.

To add to that Bungendore are one of the best sides/if not the best side in the whole of the Monaro at the moment -

Couldn't see any players from the ACT comp in the South Coast side BUT alot (possibly 90%+) of the Bungendore players are from the ACT -
