Hey if any team were to win it i would like it to be the Rams, last place and little to show for the season, it would highlight the beauty of the Horan-Little Shield, in that every match has it on the line.

The way the season panned out (with Melbourne's name already carved on there and Brisbane winning in Rd 9), there's only a minor difference if they go with the "end of year only" thing. - No club would be omitted

But, for the future, it would still defeat the purpose of being a "Challenge Trophy" if winning challengers weren't acknowledged.

Good stuff, but the count should be # matches as holder instead of #matches won, IMO.
    i.e.

    2015
    Melbourne Rising - 2
    Brisbane City - 5

This is the method used by the NZRU for the Ranfurly. The difference is nominal but it shows a fuller record.

F'rinstance, at the start of the season Melbourne were presented with the Shield. They were the holders. If they'd lost in Round 1 they should've still been recorded as holders (as opposed to being omitted as winners or having zero wins next to their name).

The other thing is that the number of matches, whilst recorded, don't need to be engraved. Team and year/s is sufficient. In the same way that Grand Final scores are a part of the record but typically aren't engraved on premiership trophies. Ain't needed.
