He's playing the Proteas this week & I'm hoping he makes a big score. Lots of talk about Wade replacing Haddin but I think Paine it better than both.

If his finger is healed & he is fully fit then I'd like to see him back in the test side sooner rather than later even if hasn't been scoring runs of late I think he is the most complete keeper/batsmen of the 3.

It's unfortunate Paine got injured when he did, but he has certainly not slipped into the background. Wade will be our keeper through till the Ashes if he performs, but I won't be suprised if Paine gets plenty of time behind the stumps in the ODI and T20 matches, and then builds his case from there.

Easily a better keeper then Wade, and about on par with the bat.

Hard to deny Matty Wade a spot, though.

Absolutely. He was Johnny on the spot at the right time. He'll get the whole summer at the very least, as he should. Chopping and changing keepers is a bad idea and I think we'll stay with him for a while.

Haddin's keeping was quite poor towards the end of his career and his still pulled off some magnificent catches. The bar is ever so high for men behind the stumps, then there's the other half of their job.

Haddin's keeping has been excellent again this year.

A diving catch down the legside in the CLT20 last week would be the best catch by a wicketkeeper in most seasons (not quite as good as his catch against Pakistan at the SCG).

Wade definitely has the job for the Summer barring injury. He needs to keep improving though. His keeping is still well short of Haddin's best.

I think it will be difficult for Paine to get back in the test side at this point. Recurring finger injuries are a big worry for a keeper and he really can't afford to suffer another one.

Peter Nevill is a promising talent and I think he'll get to play some T20 or ODI in the next year or two. It is going to be difficult for NSW to juggle CA's request to continue playing Haddin at keeper with assisting Nevill's representative aspirations. If CA hadn't asked NSW to play Haddin as keeper, I'm pretty sure you'd be seeing Haddin play as a specialist batsman for NSW this Summer.

Did Paine get runs against the Saffas yesterday? I heard he did but I'm not sure what spot he came in or how many runs he scored. Pretty flat track by the end of day 1 pretty standard at the SCG these days.

With Hussey retiring & Wade's glovework not up to scratch I wouldn't mind seeing Wade moved to the out field considering he has already had a bowl at test level & Paine come in as keeper & bat at 5.
