It has really been getting on my nerve for a while. Kearns seems more interested in trying to be a comedian than a specialist commentator and while I think that Kafer can add great insight to the game I am over his bias towards Brumbies players. I was absolutely shocked that he actually talked up A Fainga'a at the end of the game, if Anthony gets picked then a Brumby will miss out.

It is such a shame that on Foxtel you cant press the red button and get the South African feed

I don't think I've ever heard Kafer display any bias towards Brumbies players?

When it comes to team bias by commentators you can't look much further than Greg Martin...

Marto was awfully quiet tonight... I guess he couldn't rag on Elsom?

That short and very crooked throw that the Boks got away with late in the match was a prime example. Very hard to believe it wasn't picked up by the refs.
It was a shocker of a throw. I had told the computer it was not straight and then the player is halfway down the field.

Confident we will get up against Russia.

Two things bothered me about the end to the match:
1. After walking all over the Bok scrum at their end of the field, we immediately get shoved backwards 10m at the very next one, which should have been a penalty
2. Kepu's penalty, which was idiotic

If the Boks weren't so out of sorts, then they would have made us pay for those mistakes.

therein lies the beauty of John Smit at tighthead

Yeah that is the argeed thinking. I had to put it down. Bryce could end up being in the top three who get the semis and finals, based on a conversation I had last week. Joubert and Rolland being the other two.

It looks like fate may have taken that "Get out of jail free" card away from us all.

Smit's a great leader; but should have called it a day after the Lions.

At least there is no Kaplan. Though you would have expected Barnes to be close.

Wow. just watched the game. I couldn't work out who was the most incompetent on the night. SAF, Aus or Lawrence. I'm a fan who doesn't actually mind pendantic nit-picking but only when it's applied to both sides. Anyway, Aus looked to me a 20+ better side and could've had the bonus point by 60min mark but for their own woeful handling.
It was such a horrible spectacle I nearly swore off watching the World Cup! I hope nobody was trying to introduce Rugby to a new fan by watching that fiasco.

If I was a NZ fan I'd be feeling extremely confidant. Good things were Samo and Ant Fainga'a absolutely standing out in their cameos and the fact that Aus actually did hang on to win.

This from refs some pros, some not last week beers after club final. Was showing them their super15 ref stats and they were looking at the ones they considered the benchmark. They thought Joubert showed in AB v Wallabies that he was up to RWC final. Now ref assess other refs and they decide who gets the games, so it might be an indicator....

Which would be fine, were it not that rating Bryce Lawrence - the whole Yellow Brick Road gang in one, because he's got no guts, ticker or brains - is like the clock striking thirteen; it means everything else before that is instantly rendered suspect.

just watch the match. Couple of points:
. I got laughed at for calling Horwill world class earlier in the year during the S15. I'm feeling smug now :)
. Higgers made a few mistakes but was very involved. Much better than McCalman.
. Our no-impact bench is a myth. The impact Fainga'a had when he came on was immense. Impact isn't just about attack.
. Cooper cutting down a rampaging Beast (did I see that right?) was awesome. Cooper's decision making and understated play very good this week.
. Rocky was excellent. Great way to respond to criticism.
. On the negative - still too much pushing of passes after breaks.
. Bryce is a joke. Possible the worst international ref running around.

I'm just wondering if Rocky at #8 and Higgers to 6 is better if they both start?
