Is it the same case though? Who knows. A late night casino visit and a food fight. Pffft. Meanwhile a Sydney Rooster has punched a chick at a night club. We're doing ok.

JON felt the publicity slipping away and needed something to keep Growdumb from writing a "Rugby is failing" piece... and he probably gave him a free pie.

The chick happens to be David Morrow's niece, the ABC league reporter. Bit hard for this one to be covered up.

Well next to a nrl scandal this is nothing

Exactly. I wonder if Jon released this to show up league.
They had to release something to stop speculation.

Punching a reporters neice, top effort.

Anyone think perhaps the beat up was deliberate too? Get anticipation growing, and then...a food fight.

Oh, and wait until League's incident of the week shows up, and then release to counterpoint the behaviour?

It was on PR yesterday from a gossip email from crikey.com

Four leading rugby union players are in hot water for committing offences normally associated with rugby league. One of the rugger offenders is on the brink of announcing his retirement from the game and the careers of the other three are under a cloud. The Australian Rugby Union establishment is attempting to keep a lid on the whole affair.

Are we sure the food fight is all we need to be worried about because this doesnt match.

The 'something else' is the original investigation which is still going on (rumoured to concern late night at a casino)

The food fight was a second separate incident.
