I've got to agree with Ash. Deans is likely to stick as closely as possible to established Wallaby starters. With the number of injuries around, there is some room for discussion though.

We are now down to Edmonds, S Fainga'a, Whitacker and Fitzpatrick as hooking options. I am still unconviced by S Fainga'a, but given the injuries around and the fact that he has had more game time than the others I think he has to be given a chance as the starting hooker. I'd love to see Fitzpatrick as the reserve as I think he has a big future ahead of him (assuming he gets a good go with the Waratahs next season and beyond).

At the rate of hooker injuries to add some seasoning I would strongly have a look at Frier if fit.

Fitzy needs to do more in the tight to be right - sometimes guilty of hanging out of rucks and mauls waiting for the ball but then again suppose Fainga'a does the same.

I blame Jeremy Paul and Sean Fitzpatrick for developing a generation of seagull hookers. Thankfully S Moore and TPN are a bit more old school and stay in tight a bit (well, TPN has a roving commission).
It is disappointing to see some of these up and coming front rowers being like this - Fitzy, Palmer etc...
Need to get NTA up 'em to point them right.

I assume of the remaining hooking options that bar one or two wanting to throw Frier in there, majority believe that S Fainga'a will be the starting option. How are we on the benchie?
Like Fatprop I'd like to see Fitzpatrick in there, if for no other reason than to confuse Kiwis. How do the rest of you see it? None are "tight" hookers.

TPN should be ready after the Fiji test right? So let Fitzpatrick start until then and call it "development" like bring Gits on in his first test against England.

I thought Fiangaa played a lot tighter this year and his ruck defence was fantastic. If out 2 best hookers cannot play and Fiangaa gets the nos I would love to see Edmonds chipping and chasing against the Fijians.

S. Finger plays very tight.

He will be in the mix without a doubt.

Yeah, S Fainga'a has been pretty good, and deserves the nod if TPN is out, and he has been less :sharpe: than others this year. I should have made that clearer in my :sharpe: post a few back!

S Finger to start and Fitzy on the bench for me. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Charles get some consideration. Very good player, but less exposure to the big time than Fitzy.
