I don't think you give him enough credit for the fight he puts up when he isn't handed good passes. I've always been in awe of the way he runs every time like he is not going to be tackled, and often isn't. Sometimes it's in space off a good pass, others it's off one step with defenders right on him.

He runs like an NFL running back and this has both good and bad implications. It's good when he receives a shit pass and has to clean up and ends up beating 2 guys and making meters. It's bad when he keeps pumping when he needs to go to ground so we can recycle quickly and exploit holes outside as opposed to him gaining 1 1/2-2 meters.

BPC, this is about 2014 so Speight will be eligible, and Digby gooooone....

Whoops. I have to admit I missed the 2014 qualification. My general comments still stand. We need someone to punch through the heavy traffic near the ruck as an alternative to a forward on occasion. Speight could probably do it although needs to develop the skill. I am not sure about Tomane.

Swap Ioane for Speight in my post (assuming Folau stays).

Folau if you look at he is been one of the guys making the clean breaks and beating the defenders second to Digby.

Assuming no Digby or Mafi, and JO'C holding down another position, imo the contenders are Honey Badger, Henry Speight, Joe Tomane, Jesse Mogg, Israel Folau and Luke Morahan. Before the last few games, I would have included Shipperley, but have been really disappointed in his performances recently.

I think Izzy's best position if he remains is 15, so would rule him out for wing. Cummins and Tomane would be the strongest in tight I believe, so would probably suit one side best, while Henry, Moggy and Morahan would fight out the finishing winger's position. I would really like to see Cummins, Speight and Folau with Mogg on the bench, but any combination will serve us good.

Speight will have to turn prostitute and the ARU pimp for him to wear a wallaby jersey, and both will lose face.

You mean like you guys did with the Beast?
Yeah all that roids keep him up and running. Nothing a few heart operations can fix. We had Chavanga as well but his hammies unfortunately gave problems. Now he was quick. He would have lapped that Cheetah

Yeah - and SPEIGHT. Notice that he can also take penalty kicks for touch? Can't wait to see him on the end of the Wallabies backline.

Can't hear you.

Did you say something?

Speight plays like the skinnier, pre-knee injury version of Joe Rok.

What will be interesting is who the Wallabies will go with in the RC. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)? Tomane?

I still wake up in a cold sweat from Tomane's defensive lapses against the Lions. I'm happy to give him game time in gold to prove me wrong, but if you've got AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) as an option, and you want Kuridrani at centre, then AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is a sure bet for RWC

He looks quality, that's for sure. Not done anything at test level yet obviously, but all the signs are pointing to him being very good in gold.

As far as the RC goes, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) would be my pick and Tevita at 13.

I don't know if I saw enough from the big man Tevita to cement his spot at 13. I'd still rather have AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) playing there, as IMO he's the best outside centre in the country. But I don't really know who to bring onto the wing to replace AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)..

I think AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is head and shoulders the form 13 this year. Consistent excellence.

At the moment though I think Kuridrani is a better 13 than our next best 14 so he stays.

Until Speight comes on board we're short another winger. You'd figure that McCabe, Horne and Tomane will be fighting it out for that spot.

So wingers of McCabe/Horne and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). Basically 3 midfielders who have been put out wide at Super level to fit in other blokes.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) has been put at 14 at test level because we're short of wingers but he's arguably the form 13 in the whole of Super Rugby and if it came to the crunch I'm pretty certain he'd get the Wallabies 13 position ahead of Kuridrani at the moment.

That said, he's excelled at 14 for the Wallabies whenever he's needed to play there.

We're definitely short on specialist wingers right now particularly with Cummins leaving and Speight not yet eligible.

The next specialist winger is probably Tomane and he's missed plenty of time through injury this season and is still being kept on the Brumbies bench.

Who do you suggest? I don't think it's particularly different to the All Blacks picking Ben Smith or Charles Piutau on the wing. Some players are good enough to play multiple positions and it's worth moving them to fit them into the side ahead of playing specialists who are of lower quality.
